roof rack with no drilling?

    i want a defender roof rack, is there any way to mount it using those gutters on the roof,under the rubber seal..i dont wanna drill in the roof...thank you:confused:

    Those "gutters" are just wide enough to fit 1" wide box tubing, and if you can find some 1"x2" and cut some short sections (3 or 4" long), drill the correct holes in them and bolt them down, it should give you some solid footings to mount a rack. I fooled around with making a single long piece to do this, but gave up because of the compound curve it requires- tons of cutting and welding. Maybe when it cools down this fall I'll try again

    Neither do the Yakima's, but they won't hold as much as the defender will without damaging the roof.

    there are weld-nuts pre-installed in the rails under the weather stripping on the roof if you are a double cab. Find the correct threaded bolts and the weld-nuts, cut/drill holes into what ever rack you want to run, and bolt it down...no cutting watsoever on your roof

    X2. I used to have the Yakima on mine but swapped it out for the OEM roof rack.

    i want a defender so i can have lights in the front/rear...i just went camping and could have really used extra space

    Get an OEM rack and put a basket on top. mount lights to the basket. I think that would look killer
