Hi everyone, colorado springs native here. I like guns, good beer, good laughs, video games, and cars LOL... I'm actually not(or wasn't, I should say) a "truck-guy", just an autocrosser who needed a tough, all-weather daily driver that can tow a race car.

So I bought my 09 tacoma in january -it had been on the lot awhile-nobody wants the manual trannies unless they are wierdos like me I guess LOL. It's an SR5 V6 sport, not off-road like I wanted, but the price was right so I bit.

Anyway sorry about the lack of pictures.

So far I've put about 6K miles on the truck and I can honestly say that driving a truck...feels good! DER...I mean...what?

So far, from a sports car guy's point of view:

    Pros:
-Tough tough tough. Even with the so so OEM tires and crappy non-locking rear Diff this truck is controllable and capable in the worst conditions I've driven in, and this last winter was a good test. ICE? Blizzard? Put it in 4x4 and rally to work. *grin*

-Despite some of the nit-picking I've read here and elsewere I have every reason to believe this truck will last a long time. Noises like injector tick and suspension squeeks don't bother me unless I never noticed them before.

    -It's not slow.

    Cons:
-Traction control, stability control, anti-shenanigans-yaw-sensing-kill-joy nanny electronics...Boo! Pressing the trac button and holding it down for 3 seconds is now habit. You should be able to sign a waiver and throw the ECU at a lawyer's face.

-Manual shifter is clunky. I didn't expect anything different, but you know...

-Driving position is wierd. I'm average height and very skinny. With the steering wheel all the way out and up, and with the seat all the way down it still feels like the wheel is too close to my crotch.

    -Fiance's V6 Rav4 is a lot faster...

Anyway, looking forward to hearing from some like-minded folks. I really really do enjoy driving my Taco :D

    Cheers!
