We used to call this kid in my unit command specialist major because he thought he was right on everything.. from regulations to gov policies to sports. Everyone just said "roger that command specialist major" Other NCO's even did and it was hilarious.

Hah, I had a couple people call me Spec-9 or Command Specialist major cause I'd been in for 8 years and was the SME on our systems. Points never let up to promote so I ended up getting forced out, wasn't super fun knowing E-6s that had only been in a few weeks longer than you.

And I thought being promotable for 2 and half years was bad.. Though I picked up at like 636.

I was promotable for four years or so. Points jumped to 798 the month after I got my P. Came down once to the high 600s to pick up one guy and that's it.

Facebook brought back my post about terminal leave a couple days ago.

"To my relatives, kin, relations, friends, compatriots, comrades, lovers, haters, and those who wish death upon me, I have some important news. Some of you may mourn and some of you shall celebrate this news, for the tone of this message shall be determined by your feelings toward me and the life I have chosen to live. I have recently become stricken with a condition, normally it is a fairly common condition that will only last a few days. However, these are not normal conditions for this condition. I have become aware that in my unusual set of circumstances, the condition is Terminal. There's no going back from this. I do have to admit this fact that I welcome it, even with a fair grasp of the consequences. They say the condition will last 20 days before my time here is through. By now you're wondering what cruel, or fantastic, condition this could be. I will tell you, do not fret peruser. The condition is known by many names but the most common terminology in this case is Leave, it is Leave of the rare Terminal strain. Terminal Leave, if you will... Take heed my farewell and remain of a golden hue, horse man."

My plan is to work until I'm debt-free then quit/leave and live off of the GI Bill so I can focus completely on school.
