    4x4 OFF-ROAD... that is all I need...
The Mojave Desert Association is going to get hit hard from wrongful death lawsuits... seriously though, why would they let spectators sit within 10 feet from the track? That's like watching people drive 100 mph on the shoulder at the 405 FWY @ 2am... where was the safety consultant for this race? Budget cuts... since safety consultants charge $300/hour for common sense shit like making people watch from a safe distance...

My prayers go out to the families involved in this tragedy... I hope they all win the wrongful death lawsuits... it won't bring any of their loved ones back, but it will send more shockwaves to the desert racing world.

A friend of one of the fallen victims (Brian Wolfin) was just on the Today Show (NBC) attributing some of the blame to the driver for going so fast in a heavily populated area.

It's a race folks, stay off the track and WAY out of the way. Last time I checked, races were about going WFO and drivers for the most part only stood to hurt themselves if they lost it.

About 100 yards beyond the accident there were about a dozen people standing right in the track. I saw people them just missed by the earlier vehicles and all they did was take one step back, and have another sip of their beer, only to step forward for the next vehicles. These guys were going to be next if the accident hadn't happened.

    Not enough.
Can we get this made into a magnet, like the yellow and pink ones for soldiers and breast cancer?

I think it'd be a great idea and all proceeds could be donated to the fast aid donation.

I know i'd fly one on my tail gate.

I'll start looking into getting them made when I get off work.

    Anybody else?

Obviously someone who is not a veteran off-roader who has been involved in off road racing. It is amazing that this has not happened before. This has nothing to do with the organizers, the drivers for going too fast or any agency that overseas the desert. All of this lays at the hands of the spectators. You just can't protect people from being stupid. If you are so ignorant that you stand or park your TOYOTAS within a few feet of a race course where off road race vehicles are going 60+ mph, well then I really don't have a whole lot of pity. When you place yourself in harms way, you are taking the risk, and all the blame should lay with you. These courses are anywhere from 25 to 1000+ miles in length, and no one can police then entire course. Several of the members of TW are included in this group of ignorant people. The pictures don't lie! How often have you had parts break? And you're not going nearly as fast. Think before you park your ASSES and you Tacos within mere feet of a race course. You can't fix stupid. You guys are starting to rival the stupidity of the Baja crowds.

yea i know a couple of my medical staff would get some and no telling how many others but I know there is a huge number of people and racers out there that would appreciate these. A doctor I work with was there to see his first desert race since he does rock crawling. He's just glad he wasn't in that area to see it.
