This is one of those days at 3PM I know I'll want to head out, but if I do it will take twice as long as if I left at my normal time.

I bought one last year. Lenovo 720s with amd ryzen5 8g ram, and 256g ssd. Thing is fast, battery life is ok. It's only a 3 cell battery, the 4 cell Lenovo's last all dame day.

Well I'll be fleeing further North and West to get away from you all :p :brianr:

On the other hand, I'll be closer to Geoff, so that may be a questionable decision on my part...

Im actually trying to wrangle staying home and taking care of shit around the house while the wife and kids go to the inlaws Maine place. I have so much random shit to get done, and our summer is already booking up quickly.

Hard to get things done with all of the rain we've had, too. I've been itching to get started on my firewood before it gets too hot, but the lower lot where it's stored is still WAY too soupy.

That'd be tractor work anyway and IDGAF about the wheels on that, but it's still so wet down there that I can't even trust my footing enough to run the saw.

My plans this weekend are to go to my brothers wedding. I need to be around for my wife whose father is very sick and who is in Tufts hospital in Boston with a real bad heart and kidney and all kinds of shit . I was initially asked to head over to my mother-in-law‘s house at around noon to make sure that she eats properly as she is diabetic and has dementia so I was about ready to go over there and was called and told that her brother and sister are going over. While I am capable of prepared to help it’s a relief to know that they are going to do it. Going to dig out some of the fire pit that I’ve been working on more and make a trip or two to the dump with yard waste and such. It is hard to enjoy yourself on a long weekend when you have family stresses like this .

OK, I was going to initially post something different when I was reading other peoples plans for this long great weekend that we love so much.

So I’m in Nashua and I’m looking for stone for around the fire pit, half inch stone not bigger than that . Anybody got any recommendations on where I should go? I will probably need about 2 yards and to avoid paying a delivery fee I am considering picking it up at half yard loads . Is that too heavy for my truck at about 12 to 1500 pounds each trip?

Technically no, but if mine was any indication you'll be riding on the bump stops. Just make sure your tires are fully inflated and leave some extra room between you and the car in front of you. I'd suggest laying a tarp down in the bed before you load the stone; that way when you get close to the end you can stop shoveling and just drag the rest out.

    Tarp is always effective.
I will of course keep a close eye on the truck bed as he slowly pouring it in and I can always make that extra trip to come back and get that small amount that I’m lacking. I’m actually just considering paying the fee for the delivery instead of making many trips and beating the shit out of my truck.
I think she can handle it.

Should be fine if you take it easy.

On the other hand, how much is the delivery fee, vs how much you'll spend in fuel making 4 trips back and forth for the 2 yards that you'll need?

$25-30 . I know of a place the next town over I’ll say is maybe 10 miles each way. So, Time and fuel is the key factor so the delivery fee is probably most practical thing to do. If there is a place in town that I am unaware of I would do that and make the trips myself

    Right.
A lot of times it works out that way. I was looking at renting a dump trailer again to get gravel for the driveway, but I'd have to buy 14 yards before I'd break even on the price for delivered vs picked up at the quarry, and with fuel costs it pushes it to around 18-20 yards. Since I only need around 8 for a topcoat it's a no-brainer to just have it delivered, even though it galls me to spend $ for somebody else to do something I could technically handle myself.

I found a place 5 to 10 minutes away he has three-quarter inch and three eights inch River rock and also crush stone in the same size. I might get the crushed stone because the rocks I have bordering the fire pit in a circle is the same color as the river rock, brownish , and I think it would make a good contrast with the gray stone in the middle. $55 a yard for the River rock and probably less for the crush stone . $30 for delivery fee. If he’s 5 to 10 minutes away I can make the four trips and call it a holiday . I will take a spin over to both places to see other options I have.
