He is a youtube channel and his gig is tearing tools down and inspecting the guts and adding commentary. He's pretty entertaining. I'd give him a watch.

"This Old Tony" is also pretty good, but he does like mid grade fab projects.

A few years back I decided to switch to Milwaukee 18 fuel when my Dewalt 18v batteries started going bad. Worth the money, have had 0 issues with them, and they are powerful, with great battery life. It feels like you’re holding a tool also, as opposed to some lightweight plastic thing.

spent half of my younger life working in mills, and you'll only find Milwaukee in those outfits. of course we only used wired in that environment, not sure if we're just talking wireless here.

I've been using Makita cordless tools for most of my 35 year career going back to the 9.6v NIMH batteries. They last well and are simple to replace worn out parts that they keep stocked. A large tool selection too.

My Dad bought my Makita grinder in the early 80's, and then passed it down to me. It'll still rip your arm off if you're not careful. Pretty much a Makita family, I guess.

I mainly own Ryobi and craftsman... love my Ryobi for the battery interchangeability. all my corded tools are craftsman and inherited. got a 50 year old craftsman circular saw that is in impeccable shape and I just replaced the old brushes in it when I got it. I don't get the hate on Ryobi, but im no professional by any means, I do CT/MRI scans by day lol

Kind of have to break it down to what the power source is and what's is the purpose.
Industrial(heavy duty) - Pneumatic - Ingersoll Rand - oilfield work you must have intrinsically safe tools, no sparks
Construction job site(medium duty) - Milwaukee corded - Occasional carpenter work to help out others or for my own needs
Home(light duty) - cordless Dewalt - ease of use
    Just my opinion.

I was going to list festool, but that’s like an entirely different stratosphere.

I was raised on Dewalts, and I've stayed dewalt as an adult. I think they are solid tools.

Also this thread needs a poll...

Yah certainly not cheap to buy but they make some great tools.
