Anyone else tried to upload pics to flickr today?

 

No why?

 

No access, down for maintenance. Been trying all day.

 

I think I read it will be down all day today.

 

Really gonna be closer to 2.5k to do all the fueling and computer control right rather than the half ass jerry rig crap people come up with on here all the time

 

What’s the point of Flickr?
Storing full sized photos?
Or?

 

Not really. 500 for megasquirt..for me. Or aem. 300? For injectors. 150 for fuel pump if that. Maybe add 500 for meth water. Pretty much all you need.

Flickr has much better data compression as in it doesn't make the photo look bad. Unlimited bandwidth useage too. And you used to get 1Tb storage for free but that's changed now.

 

You underestimate the costs though, like in bens case the megasquirt woulnd't be easily possible because the trans controller is built into the OEM ECU and requires running signals. The MS that is ideal for these trucks is closer to $1200 now BTW.

That one is pretty strippy, fine for a wheeling rig maybe, or a track vehicle. But lacking most features someone would want for a daily

 

In what way?

 

no closed loop self learn, knock module isn't included, cannot address an auto trans (might be able to address a separate trans controller, they aren't clear on that), IO capability is pretty limited so keeping some stock systems for emission might be difficult

it's totally fine for something you don't mind having your laptop ready to tune on everywhere you go though

 

Well...I don't need a trans controller, manual. And no emissions so. I don't see an issue. Closed loop tuning won't be super easy but not that bad

 

Yeah it might be for some people, but it isn't one of the ECUs from their lineup that I would bother with. I would consider it, and probably still pick something else, if I was going to be tuning something single purpose like a drag truck or something

 

I just want a fun day turbo taco. Seems like it would be good for that. Be fine for the SX daily

Can't the megasquirt just be run in parallel with the factory ecu? Just control fuel and timing with the MS. This was my plan at least unless I'm missing something. Not entirely sure how it would all work out but I planned on going with the diy kit.

 

The kit I was looking at. No. It's a full stand alone that plugs into the wiring harness direct.

I'm not sure mega squirt has a piggy back.

If you're going the piggy back route just get an arm fic6
