    Thanks for the advice.

The garage owner has told me he wants to put the truck up on the rack to show me how serious this is, so I'll get photos then and post them.

Anyone have experience dealing with "Pick Your Part"? I assume they will try to pay me bottom dollar for the truck, then part it out.

    Out of frame replacement warranty.

You could just buy a frame and pay a shop to switch everything over? Which sucks unfortunately

It is the OP`s truck if he wants to unload it cheap to a scrap dealer by the pound it is his Choice

I have never seen a frame so bad it could not be fixed the cost might not make it worth while.

A shop has the whole Liability Issue anything happen could be a broken shock mount effecting handling never mind you were going 95 mph plus into deadmans Curve

Your family now owns the shop the former owner lives under a bridge

Would only scrap it "by the pound" if all else fails. I know the engine is in good shape, I would hope it (and whatever can be savaged) can go to someone who can use it. That's why I searched for a Tacoma site.

more to this meaning it was inspected and passed (whatever date you had it inspected) and you said inspected twice at the Toyota dealer and another indie shop just now?
they (Toyota) then were supposed to re-spray/apply inhibitor (or something like that I have heard around here) so that it would not continue to deteriorate to the point it is at now as unsafe to drive
i am still investigating this whole matter and what exactly has been going on for past 10yrs

Yeah they're going to hose you, the only way to make any real money parting it out is to part it out yourself (takes time and a good deal of effort) or try and list the whole truck as a 'parts only' truck and try to get someone to buy the whole thing. Won't make as much as you could parting it out piece by piece on your own, but definitely will bring in more than if you sold it to a scrap yard.

That's what I figured. Definitely do not have the time/skills/facility to work on and part it out myself, the whole truck "parts only" approach was what I'm looking at. I'm not in a great hurry sell it, but I don't want to keep it several months either.

OK, I will post photos either tonight or tomorrow. I really do want to see this go to someone who can use what's salvageable.

clifden, I know its your truck and all, but this prior post still bugs me!
i am the original owner of my truck and was given a clean bill of health upon inspection in 2o11,
although the dealer had not a friggn clue what I was talking about when I told them i need my truck inspected.
it is my understanding that Toyota was supposed to respray/undercoat a clean bill of health in Ohio.
under 60k miles in 19yrs should not be this bad at all (at least I don't think it should)

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
you can see it was coated. probably why the rust got as bad as it did.
