The Beer Nerd - what are you drinking / brewing thread

I’m excited for the Pliny. My buddy saw it and immediately got jealous.

 

More than I’d like to pay for an event, but my buddy that went last year swears this is the party of the year. He lives nearby so at least I won’t have to get a hotel room.

Brewer list look amazing.

 

At least they run it correctly.... limited number of tickets.... must be purchased by each participant IN PERSON. This limits the number of participants and mostly eliminates Booze Mobs. Yea, the price is a bit steep, but it sounds more like a tasting party than a traditional keggerfest.

 

They had one day in person and then went to online for what’s left. They validate against your drivers license tho, so there’s no secondary on these.

Going to be a long weekend. We’re going to the beach with her family that week, leaving on Friday to come home, and then I’m waking up early to head north to rally with my buddy with a few cases of beer for after the festival. Gonna take a case of Gatorade and bottle Aleve.

About to pressure wash the patio and then mow. Why can I see through this beer, @uhplifted ?

I have a few of those, too. Haven’t had a chance to get many of the local ones yet because their release schedule didn’t agree with my schedule. First one I’d had was the Hightower bottle shown above and I thought it was pretty damn good. Favorite I’ve had thus far is Great Notion.

 

My cousin frequents their brewery in Ohio.

 

I actually shipped that off to him after their 2 Year Anniversary releases. They just built a new facility out there (in the middle of no where). Pretty cool spot, low overhead for the owner since it’s on his property.

 

Yeah my cousin said he really likes the chill vibe and all their brews are on point so he says.When the time arrives to go back for a visit i’ll surely check it out.

 

I had their stout,porter and lager a few yr’s back in AZ.that i purchased at a place called “Pay And Take”(Flagstaff,AZ.).I thought they were goodies.

 

It was an interesting mix between the two, light bodied for a 10%, not too sweet at all, like the non-nitro version of their Guinness and higher abv with a Bulleit kick

 

Sounds like heaven. West coast is catching on. We have some great haze game here. No shame! A haze done right is unbeatable.

There are too many "fake" hazys right now though. You can't pass off an unfiltered IPA as a hazy. Tastes like bitter apple juice (cough... Unsung... cough). The real ones almost look like a smoothie of hoppy goodness.

 

A less than great westie is still better than the best hazy

I can’t recall ever having a westie that I couldn’t drink. I’ve had numerous hazies I’ve had to sink pour.

 

That's beer abuse right there man... not cool.

 

Not gonna waste liver functions on shitty beer!
