removing cats will throw codes and the truck will run like ass in limp-mode. My exhaust is muffler-less, open piped from the y-pipe back. Sounds good IMO , not as loud as you would imagine but it will get on your nerves at times if a louder exhaust is not your cup of tea, good purr on the freeway under 2,500. Best cheap exhaust mod if youre looking for sound, just get your sawzall out and hack it off clean and keep the muffler-back to have it welded back on for a few bucks at a shop if you decide you dont like

Removing secondary cats wont throw a code, sensor is after primary cats before secondary, removing primary will if you don't get O2 sims from URD. I am sure someone will correct me if wrong but this is the way I understand it sensors only monitor function of 1st set of cats not the rear set.

ya the sensors are after the header cats. I thought it was implied to remove those, if you take out the y pipe cats you wouldnt throw codes. I had my ypipe cats cut out with no muffler before and it sounded like ass haha. ended up putting a stock y pipe back on with no muffler (for now)

Actually no, but stainless steel, as a member of tacoma world, you'll get a discount, you just gave to call them up. But it won't deteriorate over time like blow master, and it's not loud at cruising speed. It came out to 80 bills with shipping included. You just gotta find a mom and pop shop to weld it on. :D

Haha. and its sounds VERY fierce. I let my buddy drive it to his house and I was at the shop and he punched it a little bit- Its very loud and sounds AWESOME!
    And proud of it! :p

Once I put more pipe on the end it'll be less loud and in your face

Oh I'm sorry I'm not up on my redneck confederate terms lol  I meant the slang or "barrio" version of bill, which is equal to or less than 1 US american dollar. But If I would have said "buck" whatthepho prolly would've thought I was talking indiginous species found in Eurasia, South America, North America and some parts of Asia, also known as deer, or stag. Then he probably would've thought I was Sacagewea on the Louis and Clark expedition trading animal skins:D my bad!:p

I grew up with a long line of mechanics and it was always a joke to us about taking the cat off or the muffler off we would never do that crap. Well if we cared about the car/truck we would not do it. As for the cat it helps but not much all the cat is is a kind of filter even if you have 2 on each side it doesn't do much for it. Also it will kill your gas mileage cuz the intake cant keep up with the exhaust. It will be cheaper and easier for you in the long run to get a cheap muffler like a wicked flow. I have one its on a 4 bangger and it sounds grate. Yours would sound even better and it was only 100$, only took them about 20 mins to do the job.
