Ready for a beer and this 3 day weekend....

Fun work story of the day:
As the PM, I'm obviously responsible for tracking hours charged to my projects and the overall budget. Well, we are nearing the planning phase exit, so there's almost NO work to be done by anyone other than myself and maybe 2-3 others this past week. This one guy charges hours this week and I don't think I have ever even seen him in one meeting, so I send an email questioning him on the work he supposedly performed just to make sure he's not charging hours to my project and not doing work (this is sadly a very common thing). He gives me this smart ass response of "I did not prepare notes on all my tasks as every hour is an adventure with <Application>. For e.g. I woke up today at 4:00am to talk to offshore resoruce and explain the project tasks and have a working session." Amongst some other things and then another snarky comment that he will write down all of the tasks he does.

I really want to be a smart ass back, but I'm just going to go reject his timesheet, and slowly dread the next 4 hours until I can drink beer and not do work shit

I look at it like this.... If you don't have time to oblige me.... I don't have time to justify my obligation to you. Read that as Garbage In, Garbage Out. :)

I tried giving him the benefit of the doubt that maybe there was some background work going on. But since he wants to be a dick, auto reject!

I liked those... not perfect, but very respectable for a small brewer targeting a niche coffee style.

It’s pretty good. I haven’t seen too many Vietnamese coffee stouts out there, but the ones that I know of are rated pretty highly.

We’ve got quite a bit going on right now! Summer production is kicking into high gear at home.

On tap: Hoppy IPA dry hopped w/cryo mosaic, Razz Chocco Stout, Cucumber Pils.

    Finishing fermentation: Apple/Pear Cider.

We’ve never made a cider before, but we dumped 3gal organic apple juice + 1gal pear juice + 1/2lb sugar on top of our yeast cake from the Pilsner. It didn’t krausen like I thought it would, so I’m hoping the yeast was healthy enough!

Brew day Sunday: imperial ipa w/citra & motueka- stoked. Going to pitch 2 white labs Burlington ale yeast in this batch to experiment on double pitching, as all our recent biab batches have been session strength.

Side note- we got 2nd in our first brewing competition earlier this month!

    Cheers

Pretty good haul at the bottle shop today. Mostly haze with a couple stouts and the Maine Beer Co thrown in.

Ciders generally wont have any Krausen because there's no proteins like in wort to build up such a mess. That's been my experience lately. Congrats on the comp, i've never entered one.

I'm not sure what you classify as a "westie" but i'd say most of the IPAs out here are westies, and there are many i find undrinkable. There are a LOT of good hazys out there, only a few great ones. It's just general preference. No point in singling yourself out here with your unpopular opinions :D

Good to know about the cider! Thanks. We are very critical of our beer & almost backed out the day before because it didn’t end up as good as the last time we brewed it. We were shocked when people liked it haha. Glad we went! Highly recommend entering one, it’s a fun experience!

Got this one from a guy that had too much on hand and he was willing to part with a few cans of different stuff.
