Had one of those in my GTI. Best shift knob I’ve used.

I've been on the hunt for a new shift knob but still can't decide. Let's keep this thread going. Here are a few I like

Anyone have a pic of the shifter with the knob removed?

Further modified the “grommet mod” today by taking out the plastic chrome retainer and zip tying in the grommet in its place. I think it looks better. Now I gotta find a lower profile black lock nut!

Just throwing this out there as I would not be a fan of a lock nut also. You could jam some material in the bore of the knob. This can be added to until the orientation is correct.

Like some white thread tape? Will that work well enough? I actually just ordered a toggle switch nut off eBay, it’s a very low profile I’m hoping it does the trick.

Not teflon tape on the threads, but some packing between the end of the shaft and the bore in the knob. Adding anything to the threads could cause removal problems.

So that's what the TRD Pro Manual shift knob looks like. It looks nice but I'll probably wait until I wear out the factory one before replacing it.

Got a shift knob from LJs Wood Shop, perfect height and good weight. Makes shifting much more enjoyable.

I wouldn’t say it’s aftermarket, but I finished my custom shift knob. 25mm cannon shell from an F-35. I may go back and do a final polishing later. Throws way better than the stock knob too! Hours of sanding, polishing, measuring, and drilling paid off. I’m happy with it, and it’s sure to be a conversation starter down the road.

    this and that...
when i bought this truck i browsed over to my go-to place (twm performance) for shift knobs and shift assemblies and was pretty disappointed to find out that this company apparently went dark overnight seems like. their shift knobs were some of the best i have ever owned and im a pretty big shift knob collector! anyhow, running this weighted dc sports shift knob for the time being. i had a vintage greddy trust knob on there before but im waiting for the toyota shift pattern emblem to arrive before i throw it back on.0C3C9BEC-FD75-487D-A2E3-32D9935B4FDC.jpg
