Howzit everyone. I was wondering if anyone was running the FN FX Pro wheels on a 3rd Gen with stock suspension and tire size, or even one size up? I've done all the research on the wheel and tire thread but wanted to make sure if the 8" rim width and 0 offset will cause you to fail safety. The tires look like they barely stick out past the fender. I'm not interested in Recon. I have a '19 TRD Sport DCSB. Just throwing this out there for the Oahu peeps. Thanks!

Yup no recon for wheels only. If the tires stick out a bit you can always go the garden edging route to cover the exposed tread

 

I never personally ran FN Wheels. But they were a strong contender when I was in the market for aftermarket wheels.

@artesho has the FN FX Pros on his 3rd gen with 285/70x17 Goodyear MTRs. I believe he was fine until he went Long Travel and then got fiber glass fenders.

 

I got Bridgestone RH-S 265/70R17 with SCS Stealth 6 with 8.5 width on both my trucks:
1: 2011 tacoma OME ~2inch suspension lift (needs recon)
2: 2014 Tacoma Stock suspension.

Same wheels, same tires on both trucks. Both trucks, the right side tread sticks out about 1/8th of an inch, and my 2011 failed recon.

Stupid cause, same everything, but only the truck with the “modified” suspension needs recon. Never mind that the wheel and tire size fits perfectly fine on a non-modified truck.. I swear, state of Hawaii is so ass-backwards all the time..

To sort of answer you question, It has a little to do with tire choice too. My REVO II was 265/70R17 but because it has a skinner tread than the RH-S, it didn’t come out of my 2nd gen fender. Once I put the RHS on, the tread came out. Apparently, according to the Recon guys, the sidewall can protrude outside of the fender, but the tread cannot.

I think The 3rd gens fenders come out a bit more than the 2nd gens, so you might be in good shape, especially with a 0backspace. But I cannot say for sure.

 

For those who didnt know the pre sale of the BAMF bumpers is going on. Pretty cheap for a bumper with powder coat too. I already bought mine. BAMF is willing to do a group buy kind of set up to help cut the cost of freight if anyone would like to jump in on this. Working out some fine details of it with Jerry now but if you are interested let me know see what we can get done.

 

Wish this would include aluminum options ^^^

 

I was looking at his leaf spring mounts and new front bumper support...but not sure i'd have money for that.

He hasn't answered me. I'd hate for you to miss the sale. I'd say just order the bumper and in the notes put something along the lines of add to hawaii group buy or hawaii pellet.

I mean technically every company asks for cash up front before they ship you parts. If you are scared just use PayPal they refunded everyone pretty quick last time.
