12 hours into 20hour shift.

 

Wtf and here I am at Rainer tower gripping about just hitting 45hrs a week.

 

That’s a short week round here

 

I’ve been layin off the overtime a bit. Worked 6 days a week the past 4 years plus a good bit of side work after my regular job. The real nail in the coffin was last summer working 7 days a week for 3 months straight..... by the end of it I’m pretty sure I was showing early symptoms of dementia. And my house and yard upkeep went

 

I’d kill for some OT. In my line of work it’s nearly impossible to get

 

Yeah, during holidays, I work 70-90 hours/ wk. thanksgiving thru New Years.
Sucks.
But the paychecks keep cashing, so.....

 

I try not to whine about it to much. It’s it’s a ridiculous($$$$$) system we have here at the Shitty of Seattle.

 

As the old timers tell me around my work, get on'er and stay on'er. OT that is...

 

Wut is ot? Being on salary during holiday I make about $2.65/Hr
If I got ot I’d be retired by now.

 

Sue Rahr got rid of PT at the academy and instilled the "guardian" rhetoric and more now than ever you have people doing the job that have no business doing it. No excuse to be a fatass first responder.

 

You should have seen some people in my squadron while I was in the AF...professional appearance didn’t exist and PT profiles being handed out like candy.

 

I like candy.

 

I just had an oral board yesterday.

 

And then you look at the ones saying that and they are beat to shit, hurt/sore all the time, and usually in debt over buying some sort of toy. Least thats how most of the old timers who work tons of overtime here are.

Then you have the old timers who are that way and tell the younger guys to F that and to work as little OT as possible, push to get off the deckplates and to just save as much $$ as they can.

 

They don't call it chairforce for nothing

 

That is true, some of us didn’t have to eat a box of crayons, give rusty trombones or beat our wives to find the chair haha
