Extra Mile and other brochures

I just bought a used 2009 with 15,000 miles. There are a bunch of brochures in the glove box that say they can be transferred to the second owner for $$. I was wondering what people here thought of these things and if it is worth it. Here they are...

#1 - ExtraMile Roadside Assistance
3 years/36,000 miles, max benefit: $100 per incident

#2 - Lusterizing Sealer Warranty (Damage resulting from weather including fading, oxidation, and/or loss of gloss of the factory-painted surfaces)
3 years
Transfer cost: $30

#3 - Fabric Sealant (3 year unlimited warranty against any food or beverage stain on all interior fabric)
Transfer cost: $30

 

For just $85, i would day its worth it.

 

That fabric sealant is a 5 dollar can of scotch guard. Do that one yur self.

 

Nothing really bad is going to happen in 3 years, like said above scotch guard is cheap

I pay $5 every 6 months (Progressive) for road side assistance that covers that other stuff
($10 year) that also includes car rental

 

Join AAA. You get benefits aside from just roadside assistance.

I have owned Toyota trucks since I bought my first brand new extra cab in 1989. Exteneded warranties/roadside assistance, can of "scotch guard", paint sealant "a good waxing" it all equals...snake oil. You can do 2 and 3 yourself. Matmatically speaking the odds are you will never ever need to use optoin #1. And believe me, they are hoping you don't. Most insurance policies covering towing and lock outs, mine does.

I would never waste the money on this "add on". I laugh when they try and sell me on it.

I had triple A, but canceled it as I just did not use it enough. If you travel alot and can use the hotel discounts it might pay off. Other than that triple A was another money grabber. Just never felt like I was getting a return for the $$$ I paid them for membership. Think about it....

AAA did our passport photos for cheap. They are a good source for free maps and trip planning. Some places give AAA member a little discount.

 

I am leaning towards transferring #3. This is not a treatment that I do. This is a treatment that has already been done (paid for by the original owner) and this would simply transfer the warranty to me against any stains. If it cannot be cleaned they replace the fabric. #3 seems to be the most likely thing I would need.
