I've had my swing out off for a few months now. I took the time to modify the hinge today and put my swing out back on.

Didn’t realize I posted in the bs thread.

So while replacing the oriellys cv axle with a warranty one, the new one has a seal that none of my old ones did. On the nut end of the shaft that goes into the hub.

Is it that needed to warrant taking the other side apart and swapping the driver side out with a new one as well? They both only had the seal in the hub since probably 3 yearsand a good 50k miles

Yes, I have had mine for about three years. Great product. OEM rusted and broke in two! Not a quality product!!

@GQ7227 , My 03 crew cab is going to be my last truck. It only has 133k miles on it, so it's just now broke in good. My first Toyota Truck was a 1982 4x4 22R 4 speed. Only thing I didn't like about it was the rough ride. That thing would just about beat your kidneys to death, and the crappy bench seat had no padding. But I loved that truck, decent gas milage, and went everywhere I asked it to go. Moved to Colorado and hauled a 5x8 Uhaul trailer from Louisiana to Denver. Going up Raton Pass, never made it out of 2nd gear. Everyone was passing me up. Sadly, I had to let it a few years later, when I was unemployed and behind on payments. I purchased my 03 about 9 years ago with 80k miles. 4 doors, auto, V6 Limited Edition. What's not to love. Everyone though I was nuts because I traded in a 2007 Mini Cooper S for this truck. Miss the performance and Gas Milage, but I've always been a Truck guy at heart. These day make me wish I was 20 years younger. I'd move out West somewhere, so that I could explore Idaho, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah. The guys out there have so many beautiful places to go off road. TW world has been a great place, and Everyone is teaching me how to spend money, I don't always have. :spending:

Took a new knock sensor wiring harness and beefed it up for rodent and heat resistance.

    1) Started with an OEM knock sensor harness and wrapped it with DEI Cool Tape.

    2) Wrapped the DEI Cool Tape with a flame resistant wire loom tubing.

    3) Wrapped the wire loom tubing with F4 silicone tape.

    Pictures.

Cool tape and wire loom tubing wrap.
