The TRD Offroad vs turd pro debate is settled. The scientific evidence presented shows the Offroad's superiority over the turd pros.

Keep the original equipment....and the charcoal filter. Not real gains here. Nice video on the charcoal filter.

Why wait? Do it every 100 miles! If you are going to pick an arbitrary number and go against people who know about this stuff, then make it a "zero fucks given" moment and go for a hundred, better yet, every FIFTY miles! That'll show 'em.

20190520_125146.jpg for what its worth, I recently installed the AFE cold air intake system(Momentum GT) with the throttle body spacer and radiator cover 2nd intake location as well as a 2.5" Borla catback exhaust. I will say that it's worth it for the sound alone but there is definitely a small increase in how hard it pulls from 3000rpm up. I installed it all at the same time so no input about each mods sound or gains separately but the whole combination is worth the benefits in my book.
Disclaimer, after mandatory mods like suspension and tires and rock sliders( still shopping for mine) if you offroad your Tacoma.

Easy install for both? Or did you have a shop do it? Looks great!

Super easy, took about an hour and a half for all of it. I posted a link to a short sound comparison video I made in the what have you done to your 3rd gen today thread.
Heres the link though incase you want to hear it.

So the intake air from directly behind the radiator is colder than the air from the factory location inside the fender?

Not likely, it actually pulls in air from just above and in front of the radiator and also the factory location in the fender plus it has a much larger air filter in that airbox than the stock square one. Sounds great.

Not sure about any performance but it sounds awesome loud and deep above 3500 rpm

    this and that...
that afe and borla combo is pretty smooth. not really too fond of exhaust notes on automatics but that sounds alright. im running the s&b and gonna couple it with either the mbrp or the borla. either choice will also be paired with urds ypipe.

99% of vehicles on the road already have a CAI stock from the factory. Most aftermarket CAI's actually turn your vehicle into a HAI pulling hot air from the engine compartment.
