    I was already aware. I guess I should have stated that. What I was implying was the nature of the acceleration. This is the first Toyota with variable valve timing that was just like the S2000. Hondas vtec is usually very pronounced. Toyotas is usually more subtle, the closest I've experienced in a Toyota other than the Tacoma was the 2ZZ GTS Celica, but the Tacoma is very vtec like. The 2AZ FE in my old TC had VVT-i and it had a linear power increase, no sudden surges. My 1GR FE has vvt-i as well, again linear power during accel. I was referring to the way is feels.

    The guys who are saying that VVTI and vtec are basically the same thing should probably do some reading as well.
