    I haven't looked at brake pads since before I traded in my Subaru for my Tacoma. On the Subaru I changed the pads and rotors to EBC and was extremely happy with them. Looking at EBC's website now...and nothing is explained particularly well and their catalogue is from 2016... I was starting to settle Yellow Stuff kit (
    $340 S5KF1347 Stage-5 Superstreet Brake Kit, BLACK
    S5KF1347) then I started to explore other options and that pretty much went no where.

    So my question for you guys that didn't go OEM for your brake/rotor replacement, what did you go with and are you happy with it?

    That's a fair question. My experience with my Subaru was significant enough that I would want the same change on any vehicle I would get. When I was test driving pretty much everything, Ford, Ram, Chevy, Honda and Toyota, all of the OEM braking felt less responsive. It may not be apples to apples with my old 2012 Subaru Legacy but I am due to get my brakes changed on my Tacoma and I'd rather spend a little more for upgraded performance rather then get more of the same.

    I did the EBC with green stuff pads. Probably should have used yellow or orange pads, but they stop fine. What’s more important is changing your brake fluid over to DOT 4 from that crappy DOT 3 stuff. It’s not hard to boil the DOT 3 when going downhill with a load if you’re not careful. The DOT4 is noticeably better in stopping and has a 100 degree higher boiling point

    On my 2015 DCLB the oem brake pads lasted 30,000 miles and my front left rotor "warped". I replaced them with the EBC drilled slotted rotors and yellow braked pads. You will fell a difference in stopping power. IMHO the EBC kit stopped my truck faster. The yellow pads do create more dust though. I know they have a green and red set also.

    I still have the oem brake parts on my 2018 DCLB . This truck is my second vehicle so it doesn't get driven much. The brakes on it seam about the same as the 2015 but I not sure if I'm going to change them.

    There's quite a few threads on brakes. Do a search and you'll find them. Let us know what you do.

    I've used both Hawk superduty and LTS on tacomas (job-site vehicles):

    LTS: Excellent all-around pad, highly recommended. I have a set for my truck going on soon & I'm sure I'll love them.
    Superduty: Pretty much an all-out truck pad. Tons of dust, eats rotors, but unmatched zero fade performance if you're towing/at GVWR/mountainous terrain.
