BUYER BEWARE: 3rd Gen Plug-N-Play Tailgate Bolt-N-Lock & Tailgate Bolt-N-Open

I’m currently looking into getting a NEW little HIDDEN 3D/Mold printed for me to include in my Kit for the Tailgate Opener Mod for the Tacoma like the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado Power Tailgate Handle. Haven’t decided which would be better. Most likely cheaper to go the route of the 3D print.

Nobody else has this feature for the Tacoma and it will be sweet to add to my Kit for you guys. I wouldn’t think it would be that expensive either. I’ll update some pics when I get some.

 

@KTJO 4x4 can you update on the status of the rest of the orders? Do you have all the parts and just waiting to put the kits together? Are you waiting on other parts?

 

I just completed a ton of orders. I’ve had a busy work week. I just made a update I think yesterday or maybe the day before mentioning that I would be making updates for all new orders sometime this week or this weekend.

 

I see where this is going. Power tailgate closer next!!

Finally got around to installing it today. Everything was really smooth and easy. Only hiccup was connecting the wiring to the actuator. I ordered my actuator before the bracket and rod was available, but before I got it installed the bracket and rod were announced so I ordered that. Only problem was that it changed the mounting location of the actuator and made my wiring about 3-4 inches short. Luckily I had some extra wire and bullet connectors to make the extension and everything works as advertised. This has probably been fixed in the newer kits, but if you have an older one be aware that it may require a little extension to make it work. Thanks again @KTJO 4x4 and @tacodnr for this awesome mod!

Guys I said I had a long weekend ahead of me and I do. I have it on my list of things to do. Today I completed the Tacoma Power Folding Mirrors, as well as, completed 15 Complete Full Packages and some more BNL Bracket & Rods to be able to Ship out so they are ready. It’s not like I’m not doing nothing at all. I have already communicated that I will get to it over this weekend.

For those of us that need to extend the original cabling ( recieved before getting the bracket ), what gage wire should we get to achieve the 3-6" we'reshort?

Just got my bracket in the mail today and the "arm" on it is bent (see pic). I'm assuming this should be straight with the rest of the bracket? Hard to tell from the pics in the OP since none are taken at this angle, but doesn't seem like it should have a bend in it. Haven't taken my tailgate apart yet so don't have the ability to easily look in there right now to verify. If so, guess I have good old USPS to thank. Hopefully I can bend it straight if needed without compromising the strength of it too much.

 

Looks like your space bar has a Bend to it too lol
