TSS Sensor Tacoma Recall - Las Vegas

Anyone have luck getting the TSS recall done at a Las Vegas dealership with an aftermarket TRD Pro grill? Did they give you any grief?

 

Hell I didn't know there was a recall

 

If one modifies a component which has a factory recall, then one may expect some pushback... especially if the recall remedy cannot be applied due to said modification. What do you have to lose by taking it in... either the recall fix can be applied or it can’t. You chose to mod the truck, and any good/bad consequences are out of your control (unless you demod of course).

 

I used to go to Auto Nation on Sahara (bought the truck there). They were pretty nice, though only had one service visit before moving and they didn't want to apply the transmission/ECU TSB (0062-18 at the time).

 

Did this recall with pro grille.

TSS light is on saying that it is “off” despite it working.

Not sure if it can be remedied or not. Going to give it 500 or so miles and see if it can work itself out

 

I went to a dealer in Tucson with my "Pro" grille on my OR. They wouldn't touch it since I "modified" it. When I got back to Phoenix, I put my old grille back on just to not have to deal with it when I took it in for service. They did the recall. I went home and put my Pro grille back on. Seemed to be less of a hassle that way.

 

Also in Vegas. Any luck OP?

 

I ended up at AutoNation Toyota in Sahara. My service advisor was David Schuermann. He was great. They didn’t question anything. He has a Tacoma himself.
