Hello everyone! This is my first post and I am new to the forum so I’m sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I want to install an ARB front bumper WITHOUT winch on my 2015 Tacoma SR5 Double cab.

I want to keep my stock suspension height but I’m worried about the extra weight of the bumper making the truck sag.

Will these coilovers be sufficient to support the weight of the bumper with no other mods?

    https://www.bilsteinlifts.com/shop/...t-lift-coilovers-for-2005-2015-toyota-tacoma/

I think the ones I would need are the OME 90000 and the 886 coil springs

    Thanks!

If you look enough into product detail it should give you ratings/ recommendations for added weight.

Ive never personally installed a winch on my truck and am too lazy to click your link.

Every set of struts/ springs/ packages I’ve ever looked at has given a rating, somewhere on the website.

Hope you find what you’re looking for!

    Form follows function
it will sag on stock suspension as you can expect but I see plenty of tacos doing it in my neck of the woods. A 700 lb spring will give you lift with a 80lb winch/ARB bumper (my set up) so maybe 600 lb spring? I’d google prior answers to this same question and see which members have your desired set up. Then I’d message privately or in quotes.

You want stock height? Those coilovers will give you 2"+. 886s will for sure give you 3".

You may already know this but you need to find out how much the stock bumper weighs and subtract that from the weight of the ARB without winch. Then you can get springs rated to handle just the extra load. Sounds simple enough but I admit to never having done it.

Yes I want to keep stock height. I do not want to do a full lift kit.

I know the ARB bumper weighs about 150lb but not sure about stock weight. Any suggestions for alternative coil overs?

Why not just keep your stock suspension then. Add a 1/4 inch spacer in front to compensate for the ARB.

^^^ would likely work. Or you could go the 5100 Bilsteins route on first notch with stock coils.

Wouldn’t it be better to get proper coils that will support the bumper instead of just adding a spacer?

I’ve even read that braking will be affected by the weight of the bumper so I thought I needed some upgraded suspension

When I installed mine, I weighed everything I put on and took off. An ARB bumper without a winch adds 131lbs net weight to the truck. Mind dropped very little, just under 1/4".

Did you do anything to bring the height back up? Or just left it

I've added a lift not due to the weight but to level the truck a bit. I found the hoops block a bit of the light bleed giving a cut off that my poor night vision eyes don't like. Helped quite q bit. Then for fun, I added knock off LED intensity lights from Amazon.

5100's are not advised to be used with an 886 coil though i am doing it because i already got 40k on my front shocks and i do not care, if you get 5100,s leave them set to the lowest setting with ANY lifting coil. There is an OME shock meant for the 886 that has a top out clunk and one that doesnt, do some more research on that clunk you will find it. 886 supports like 150 lbs comfortably and will give you a total 3" lift in the front, maybe 2.5 for you. Make sure you do the ECGS front needle bearing as well before it falls apart and costs you more money. Bumper weight when braking down hill is startling at first, but you get used to it very fast :)

Any other suggestions for a coilover that will support the ARB bumper?

I’ve gone through many forums on here, Facebook and other pages and can’t seem to get a straight forward answer

I have a TJM bumper that is almost the same as the ARB, that said you"ll be fine with the stock springs.
My truck only dropped 1/8 to 3/16, hardly noticable, ride and braking did not seem to change.

edit: when you mount the bumper make sure to leave an index finger of space between bumper and fender flair.

I used (dare I say) a spacer. That was in for about a year and then a friend upgraded his lifted Tacoma and gave me his billies with Toyotec springs. They actually ride a little softer than stock. Find someone that weighs 130 lbs and have them climb on the front bumper - that's how much it'll drop.

posted my info prior.....added ARB & steel rope winch in March

    already had 5100's set on 3rd notch & factory coils..sagged approx 1/2"

swapped coils to OME 886 & dropped 5100s to lowest notch..rides great

FWIW...no better time to add winch than while installing the ARB

your linky.....call Marie at HS OR to price check same coil set up & advise

The ARB is a badd azz HD bumper....I call it Kangaroo proof !

Still, OME coils with the right shocks. Spacers are for the cheap, anything else starts getting expensive fast.
