OP i would list it on craigslist or somthing. you should be able to get way more than a pick a part yard will give you.

plus those yard the trucks usually get destroyed after the first person takes anything of value. If i had the room id drive to you and pick it up. plenty of people would kill for that low of mileage for drivetrain parts

In my experience all the coating did was make the frames rot out quicker. My 01 frame looked great, got sprayed, 3 years later I had holes everywhere

The coating worked great on my truck. But I think the key is to keep it wet. As soon as it starts drying, its basically like having rubber undercoating and traps moisture. A yearly dosage of fluid film keeps mine nice and greasy.

I would think that the spray would prevent this from happening, how long is/was it warrantied to last?
if this is the case, out of who knows how many out there got this 'warranty' treatment,
i can only wonder how many in this same predicament are going to be coming out now 10 or so years later
this is going to be a bigger mess in the coming years...

from date of inspection and proper application of spray (or new frame), there must be some warranty on the warranty

If there was any pre-existing rust, that coating wont do anything to stop it.

then I would say the spray was not properly applied (shoulda been cleaned thoroughly first) and there should be warranty ramifications for a (i'll just say bad) job

but i am just little joe schmo :( i don't have legal training in these matters

The spray was designed to stop any new rust from forming. It wasnt gonna do anything to stop pre existing rust. Its not like Fluid Film, as in it doesnt soak in to the metal to stop rust thats already there.

and people at the time (10 or so years ago) had no idea about this application and what it was going to do?

Guess not. If it was applied to clean, new metal it would work flawlessly imo. And my truck is a testament to that statement. The only rust on my truck is where that stuff flaked off or wasnt applied to it in the first place. Anywhere Ive scraped that coating off, its clean frame. But as Ive said in other threads, my truck had only 20k on it when that coating was applied. And being a southern VA truck, it wasnt going to see salt nearly as bad as it would farther north. And Ive brought it further south, so it shouldnt rust anymore, especially with my yearly Fluid film applications.

 you cannot say its testament to that statement if you did not subject it to the harsh northern winter climates for experimentation

My truck was not without its rusty bits. Anywhere that coating was applied is clean metal. Id say thats enough experimentation.

That’s some pretty serious rust. Even if you had it blasted and treated the rust has probably made its way inside the frame. I’d say part it out. Dibs on the motor.
