The Odyssey Battery spacer is about 7 bucks on Amazon. I found it for 4 at Battery Mart on sale. Just FYI.

If you guys are trying to source northstar batteries, battsys.com stocks them and they have numerous pickup locations. Its what I did since I wanted to physically purchase them and did not want to go with the rebranded version.

    I think so too.

I get a discount at WestMarine and I have no idea what would be the best choice.
Thank you in advance for any recommendations.

Think the 1st one would suffice. 27 size that can be used with the 2nd gen tow package equipped battery tray. I'll be installing mine this weekend. I know I will have to make a spacer for the battery tie down cause I think the battery is shorter height wise.

I've been running the X2 Power 24F for about four years now in the FL panhandle/ southern AL region with no problems.

Went with the smaller one because I don't have extra power draws installed, and also because of body cracking concerns in other threads.

If I need more power I'll relocate a bigger battery elsewhere, or add a 2nd battery elsewhere.AEM Intake (4)-1024.jpg

Installed my 27f battery tonight. The tie down is a little tight. Seems like the carry handle gets in the way. May have to cut it off, not sure yet. Right now the carry handle is zipped to the holder.

Check out the Northstar X2 34, it fits very well like the 24F but is lighter in weight (49lbs, which is 7.9lbs less), has more CCA (880, 40+) and costs $10 less. The battery handle folds down recessed. The only con if any is the terminal posts are towards the front but the cables still reach. Mine did come with a bottom spacer which helped. Although the factory clamp did fit, I opted for a new clamp off Amazon and Dorman J bolts from Pep Boys:

You just need to shave a small notch in the handle (where the pressed dimple is) and it will fit

You don't need a $300 battery (unless you need it). I have a Bosch 94R AGM 80AH battery I use to run my fridge and multiple other electronics. Hasn't let me known yet and way cheaper than an odyssey.

Installed the Northstar X2 AGM 24F today. It fits good but the hold down is a bit wonky so I ordered a blue billet aluminum one and new 12” J-hooks from Amazon. I’ll cut them to size. I went with the 24F because I live in Austin and don’t need a lot of cold cranking amps because it’s warm here almost year round.

Updated with pic of new hold down.

Just found my northstar 24F doesn't go above 12V fully charged after 2.5 years. Guess I'll be in the market for a new battery.

My 24F came with a 5 year replacement warranty. Seems like it yours won’t charge above 12V they should replace it for free.

I have a 3rd Gen Taco with the tow pack also. It has the stock 24f battery and recently started giving me problems. Since I have after market accessories like a hardwired radar detector, front and rear dash cams and a Drone Mobile system installed my dealership will not replace it until I remove these...In light of the advice passed down on this thread I have just ordered my Northstar AGM 27F to replace the factory junk. Apparently this is a big problem for Tacos my dealership said. The battery dealer I ordered it from said these are great batteries and he installs them in all of the police cars and ambulances because of the deep cycle and reliability. Thanks again for 'starting' this OP.

Bought a CTEK charger to keep it properly topped off about once a month.

Which charger did you buy? My truck sits idle a lot and short trips and could probably use a full charge and I heard you need an AGM battery charger to do it correctly.
