McGeorge price with shipping works out to be less overall than the free shipping deals. Once you pay for shipping on the first item, the shipping cost for subsequent items is lower. I once saw an online parts supplier that had the best price per item, but the shipping costs for each item were like separate sales and shipments.

Compare the price at McGeorge for an alternator to any other online dealer to see the benefit. Since I will be spending over $1,000 with them this year, their pricing discounts add up and make a big difference.

No clue, I’ve only ordered small stuff. Shipping has been reasonable. Amazon, they are not.

You know if you enter the Indy Half Marathon (Festival 500... ) you make a lap around the track about half way through the race. I ran that race once. That lap was the highlight for me, second only to a bunch of guys partying out front of a liquor store at 8:30am. Six or eight guys yelling and toasting straight from the bottles. Obviously they had gotten there late the night before to get good seats for the race... you know, being fans of athletic events,...supporting the community.

Spring cleaning on the truck. Running the lawn sprinkler under it right now, to soften up all the remaining W. Va. red clay mud stuck under there. Then it's time to pressure wash.

Never considered insulating the roof. I had considered a gloss white vinyl for summer usage. LOL. It gets ridiculously hot here on the 3rd coast as well.

I have tinted windows but went a little further when it’s 100*+. Buy two sheets of white posterboard. Hold one up to the outside of your rolled up window and use a pocketknife to cut the shape of the upper window seal. Leave as much tail hanging down as possible prior to cutting. Open the door, roll down the window 2-3”, and insert the cut posterboard. Roll it back up and now it’s 1000000% SPF inside.

I will be pulling the headliner ASAP for some extra insulation.

what are on your custom plates?
it's been a long long time since any of my vehicles had custom plates
... dropped them the year after my old Celica was ravaged on the inside and theft of the custom stereo equip.

my license renewal is due soon and am considering putting some on my truck finally with something unique
they would go onto a plate like this...

does anybody else have custom plates?

    very well put @CrippledOldMan
these old trucks just tell too many stories!
I still wonder where everybody in my age range (40s) that bot these new, where the heck did they go ?? and why did they 'trade up' if you wanna call it that
and hopefully they kept their trucks in very good working condition for the next gen (2nd/3rd owners) to take care of when they passed them on

I used rock auto injectors. They seem to be doing great so far.

Last month I bought a set of Chinese counterfeit Aisin injectors on Amazon. They are kind of like XXX out golf balls. I've previously used and seen friends use (and get burned) on Chinese injectors. Knowing what I was getting into, I always send them to Florida for testing before I waste any time trying to install them.

So for this last batch, four out of the six came back with good test results. However, two were underperforming during the flow test. In talking to the Injector testing company owner, I learned those would work but they would result in those two cylinders having a lean condition. So I'm not using those two injectors. Period.

Meanwhile, I picked up two Intermotor (Aisin) FJ585 from Rock Auto. at $76.89 each. Those injectors have the special testing lot numbers stamped on them. So I know they are good. At some point in a couple of weeks, after I pull the OEM injectors, I'll do a write up on how to spot counterfeit injectors and show the special markings that are on the real McCoys.

Note: Never install Chinese (read low cost) injectors without having them professionally tested. This isn't the first time I've seen two out of a set of six injectors have issues.

Most people are not going to want to hassle with sending new injectors for testing before installation. All I can say is you can't go wrong with new OEMs or Intermotors.

Speaking of pressure washing, one of the handiest little items I have is a swivel head that goes on the pressure wand. Let's you wash up underneath. https://www.amazon.com/Twinkle-Star...washer+swivel&qid=1558904791&s=gateway&sr=8-4
