I have glass bedsides, but they're flat tops. Seemed to handle the RTT on normal bed bars just fine through Mojave. We'll see how long that lasts though

I'm not following your logic but I'm not knowledgeable on drop bracket lifts. Not my thing.

To answer your question though, you'd do that when fitting the biggest tire possible becomes priority over everything else.

I reintegrated it into my new fabbed swingout tailgate. Just need to re-mount it somewhere where it is helpful.

You can see it above the chase lights.

On my way home from the beach today when all the sudden I hear this rotational clicking noise that sounds like sticks snapping, later down in the rear and had my girl drive and it sounds like it’s coming from the driveshaft or the diff itself. I have no idea what it could be and it’s accompanied by some vibration when accelerating. I was gonna throw this in the normal thread but everyone on here has probably had some type or rear ended issue before.
Edit: that first noise you hear isn’t not the truck it’s my camera being retarded and zooming in and out super quick

Put your truck up on jacks, chock the front tires, and have someone slowly push the accelerator. Or just put it in neutral on jacks and see if you feel / hear something.

I had a similar noise a few months ago and it turned out to be my u joints, when I jacked the truck up the noise reduced 75% I assume because there was no load on the driveline. It turned out that Tom Woods built my driveshaft with a combo of metric and sae parts so the caps were smashed...

My guess was gonna be u-joint, sounds like it's given up the ghost - you can check for play in your driveshaft, as @Evenflow said you may not have a loud of a sound on jackstands but you won't have to hear above road noise if you want to try listening around the carrier bearing - that would be a place to start your diagnosis.

Unusual for much else in your drivetrain to allow you to keep driving while making a loud sound similar to that. Hopefully the u-joints can just be replaced - how much lift in the front vs rear compared to stock?

Not too much, with the low ride height of the solo lt kit I’m pretty much sitting level to a stock rear and I think it may be the u joint too. I’m gonna check it today and see what can be done. Thanks guys!

We’re you able to just replace the u joints? I’ve never dealt with driveline stuff so I have no clue

    A thing or two...
U-joints are replaceable. You just press them out and press in new ones.

Yeah it totally ended up being a u joint. I’ll just replace all three with stronger ones cause that seems to make more sense. The one in front of the diff had a bushing that exposed the entire cap and all the needle bearings. I was pretty much just grinding those and that’s what the sound was! Thanks y’all it should take less than like two hours max and some good music

Opinions on hood pins - I had to switch to a new hood that requires a new hood latch which is $40ish used oem or $15 ebay. I've been considering locking hood pins for $80ish, but don't have experience using them. Here are my thoughts

Keeping intruders out of my engine bay is top priority. I'm putting some stuff in the wiring for the fuel pump and starter circuit to make it harder to steal, but I'd still prefer people don't have an easy time getting in.

Access to the engine bay in emergencies. I'm not sure how high quality the locks are on those aerocatch locking hood latches are - just since I've never used them. Thanks!

Quiklatch makes good stuff! Never used any other hood pins so i can't compare to others but if you're willing to spend the money well worth it

I had quick latch here and they were cool for a little. Froze shut in winter. And they loosened up on my carbon hood after a while

Yeah not in the price range I'm looking to be in - I appreciate the info.
