Vinny. Got him from a shelter at 9 years old.

 

Cool....looks like he made himself right at home.

 

Here's the new kid pimping his new do-rag after getting a bath. He didn't take well to the blow dryer so he's still a little damp.

He's 4 months old now.

 

When you call him, do you put on a New York accent and say "Yo! Vinny!"?

 

I feel your pain, Brother. I had to say goodbye to my boy Scooter back in April. My heart didn't want to let him go, but my brain knew it was for the best.

 

HA HA! I'm originality from Brooklyn! The shelter named him Vinny so we kept the name.

 

We had several collies, good breed. Then married my wife whom breeds shelties with her mother for more than 30 years and shows them. Now in past several years have downsized to shorthairs Boston’s, Boxers,frenchtons etc.
Sorry for your loss, it’s never easy. They become family. We have 10 dogs, always sad to see one go but glad we had time together. And always looking forward to the next addition.

 

I got him from a Collie Rescue group in Washington DC in 2010. He had such a pleasant demeanor that I got him certified as a therapy animal, and together we did volunteer work at hospitals, nursing homes, etc.

About 5 years ago I started having some health problems and he became my impromptu service dog. No formal training; he just sort of knew what he had to do and stepped right into the job. I'm missing him real bad.

My wife's dog is a Sheltie and she wants to breed Shelties when she retires.

 

Winston was a huge blue Merle collie rescue. One of my favorites. Had such a good time chasing the deer

I love merles. When we adopted this new pup last month there was one Merle in the litter. But they wanted five times as much for her as the other pups.

 

Sorry man, that is tough. Scooter is a good boy!
