Heard some squeaking from the driver side front wheel... took the wheel off and this boot came off. Was wondering what’s the proper thing to do? Take it all apart? What do I need to replace? What’s this part called? Need a bunch of overall help! Thanks it’s appreciated!

Usually the cheapest way to resolve a CV boot issue is to replace the axle with a reman unit. You can replace the boot, but you tie up labor doing it. Price out an axle.

    Here you go.

I had a CV boot tear on me last year and I replaced both front axles with new shafts from rockauto.com ...But I kept the originals to reboot at a later time when the replacements take a dump.

Ben, this looks more intimidating than it is. I've done 3 of these in the last 6 months. Two for the wife's Sequoia and one on my Truck. It can be done in two hours, maybe three the first time you do it.

if you dont have the boot clamp tool this is a waste of time, like mentioned above, get a complete axle. If you do have the boot clamp tool you can leave the outer CV joint for the inner part of the axle in the diff and take the trunion off on the bench and replace the boot. You will have to mark where the trunion rides in the outer housing and where the trunion is on the axle splines to keep the axle "in phase". Sometimes getting the inner shaft out of the differential is 90% of the work, sometimes it just pops out. In addition, I do not tighten the small clamp so tight that the boot wont slide a little on the axle shaft... will a little grease leak out, sure, doesnt harm anything.
