If your close to Brooklyn your not terribly far from axle exchange in Fairfield N.J. they should be able to retube it for you and possibly use a heavier wall tubing to help make it a little stronger but you’d have to talk to them about that

Out of curiosity, how much should I expect to pay for a re-tube?

    Thanks again
Turns out my company is dealing with KM Driveline, and our mechanic is going to take my driveshaft over to their shop tomorrow. If not for this convenience factor, and the fact that they also let me use their spare truck to go home, I might have gone to Fairfield.

This V .... most of us have used east coast gear supply to regear or add lockers. They can send you a fully assembled 3rd member or clam shell, and you just swap it out and send yours back to them. Also has a 5 year warranty.
And unlike what hunter said, there’s no down time if you go that route. Or if you can deal with down time, you can send yours to them instead of doing a core exchange.

two years ago when I thought i could afford down time and send my unit in for build fedex manege to lost both my front and rear diff. ECGS was on top of it and step right in and send me the front and rear diff. ECGS also took care of all the paperwork with Fedex. ECGS ARE DA BEST WAY TO GO.
