I’ve ridden with some heeps a couple times. Friends of my my friend. One of the three heeps went down the last two times I have ridden with them..But I did get high centered each of those times:deadhorse: and needed a little help..

Is that the washed out hole on RML? Looks worse than it did two years ago.

Shew what a hot and dusty day out there. And Nothing but Jeeps everywhere. I was even with a Jeep.

We started on RML, which is a good bit more rough than when I was on it last year. We rode on through to Falls Dam and then went up Dickey Bell. That’s where we ran in to a parking lot. We made it to the top of the bad hill and had to sit there for over an hour as there were people in front of us that weren’t going anywhere. Then, this group of 2 stock dodge Durangos and some sort of Mitsubishi SUV thought they were going to make it down the hill, but they not so quickly noped right on out of there.

A few miles from the end of Dickey Bell and we run in to an older couple in a brand new stock JL wrangler and were asking if they could make it the rest of the way. We told them they would be best to turn around but the gentleman decided he needed to go see it for himself. We saw him a little bit later and he obviously decided against going down the hill.

My good friend who was with me insisted on checking out Daniel. I took him to the trailhead and he decided to go about it on his own. He made it, but he said that was easily the top 2 or 3 toughest trails he’d been on and he’s been to Moab and other western trails.

I unfortunately didn’t get many pics but it was a good day. Now I’ll be spending my Memorial Day cleaning the inch of dust out of the interior of my truck.

That sounds about right. Fucking Jeeps travel in herds too large to make it through the park trails and just clog it all up. We had a great weekend once we moved our campsite off the main dust bowl of a road.

Overlanding groups are getting bad about over running some of the public areas as well like Hurricane Creek and others. Majority of the overlanders drive Toyotas too.

Hurricane creek is the one thats on the brink of being closed due to tresspassing complaints or something, right?

I dont know why anyone would want to go in such a large group anyways. If its anything like mountain biking in large groups, Ill pass. Always wondering what the idiot in front of you is about to do.

I was out there Saturday and only saw a couple of dual sport bikes and one other truck.

That being said I can see the issue of a conga line of 30 vehicles going out there. That would be ugly. I greatly prefer small groups as in no more than 4-5.

Yeah large groups suck. Most I’ll ever do is 6 trucks, but prefer to keep it around 3-4. And selection is key, I don’t wanna babysit anyone. I like to wheel with people of my own caliber so we’re all on the same page.

5-7 is about the perfect group for me.

If it's only taking one newb I don't mind especially if they are willing to do harder stuff. But going with guys that are timid or not scared to go on harder stuff doesn't make it fun. Same goes if you are the only one wanting to do the hard stuff and there are a bunch of inexperienced spotters or guys that know how you wheel or how far you are willing to push it and keep you out of trouble.
