 I find the "lower" class people always come together in times like these. I think its pretty damn good to see everyone coming together and getting that much $$ in this short amount of time.

Thoughts and Prayers to the families.

why do they continue to blame everyone. This is tragic, but also involves personal responsibility. Open desert means spectate at your own risk. people shouldnt need to be told what to do. don t stand in front of flying trucks. I am by no means saying good riddance but this tragedy should not cause stricter rules and regulations.

Next time people wont stand so close. I will continue to pray for the families but it just aggravates me that the media turns it into this crazy thing and make desert racers/spectators look like barbarians. Now, thanks to the media, some politicians somewhere is going to shut this stuff down.

for those of you interested, the jump at the rock pile where the truck launched looks like this video from the driver's point of view (taken from a pass in my truck going waaay slower a few hours before the incident, the jump is at 00:47):
    th_rockpile_28b22fbd1b5987582bfa805097a15b8d8bcd2adf.jpg

As I approach the jump, you can see the track isnt all that narrow as other videos portray it, however, more people arrived later

Agree completely.........there should be tighter rules and regs..........for spectators. All poiliticians need to focus on what matters to the whole country going on in DC and fuck off on this. Needless tragedy will result when people put themselves in harms way & alchohol just speeds it up...no matter what venue. The drivers entered in the race are not at fault on this.
