Rear-ended Today. Bumper Suggestions? Go!

Haha! Hopefully nothing beyond the bumper is damaged, but I'm finding out today.

I don't think that will be an option, however, as the rest of the bumper was dented inwards and up from the collision. The plastic end caps won't fit anymore as a result. I'm pretty sure at least half of the plastic attachment points are broken now, too.

Check to see if your cab and bed gap is uniform.

 

I went with ATH because I only design I really liked was CBI's (my front is CBI), but they wanted like 800 more for a high clearance with swing out. This one is my 2nd favorite in design and didn't break the bank. I think my only complaint is the location of the back up cam relocation, but I think they updated that in newer versions.


Install was easy. Bedside cuts were simple and they even provided the trim pieces to go over the cuts. The hardest part, aside from deciding on cutting your bedside is actually taking your orginal bumper apart to get the wiring harness/sensors out.

 

Update - Got an estimate for the damage at $1,511.85. Contacted the guy who hit me and asked for $1,600 cash, which he agreed - should see it via PayPal no later than tomorrow morning.

Looks like a HC rear may be in my future.

My insurance payout from when I got hit was almost the same and the ATH was bumper ~1600+200 for shipping. If you don't want the swing arm or back up monitor holes its only $1095

Yup, the simple HC by them seems to be exactly what I'd be looking for. Going to be in contact with ATH when receive payment.

Thanks man - as long as I'm made whole, doesn't matter where the money comes from. But I figured the dude has his own repair costs and the traffic citation, so this is best for both parties.

 

With this bumper, can you have a trailer hitch?

Great suggestion, especially with it being in-state.

I've selected a bumper from Morgan with ATH Fab - the standard rear steel bumper with hidden hitch. The design, quality, weight, and features are what I'm looking for. Should have it in hand by early August!
