1998 Unmolested (so far), 207k, 3.4L, auto, so far everything is factory, and actually still works, even cruise control! lol. No mods yet, just picked it up Saturday 25 May.
    Thanx for adding me!

Finally found an unmolested 1998 Tacoma, I think it's a limited.? Seems to have about every options, and so far they all still work! Only has 207k, 3.4l v6, Auto. Wanted a manual, but, I'll most likely appreciate the auto in the long run. This is my "new" Daily driver... Now my Jeep can take a rest... I drove it home, about 600 miles, I think it needs either plugs, coil pack, wires or all of the above. Seemed to run OK until any load, then would sputter/miss... Seems to have plenty power so I'm not too worried, and just gonna start with the basic tune up, and go from there...

Anyway, been off-roading for a long time, but the first Taco I've picked up in over 20yrs and I can't wait to make it mine!

welcome to TW....before my current '14 Taco.....

    I drove a '98 TURD for 11 trouble free years....V6 & 5 speed

prob my best ever 'Yota......just had the itch for a newer one

if you have no idea of service records.....do the plugs/wires/fuel filter

air filter...fresh oil/K&N filter....K&N with the welded nut makes removal much

easier on the 3.4L....long extention & wobblers are what I used...

yes 6 qts of 5w30 ....good luck with your new ride !

don't forget this guy...driver's side frame channel

Not to thread jack, but I am going to miss the
accessibility my truck has if I lower the suspension by 1.5-inches; getting underneath with complete clearance makes flushing the fluids painfully simple.

I was going to post a picture of all the fluids I bought to flush out the 'ol stuff and post it alongside my truck's glorious photoshoot. Though amazed at how dirty the differential and transmission fluids looked, I completely forgot and decided it wasn't that important.

Done with thread jack; resume your posts.
