I'm actually working today. Volunteered.

I worked this past weekend too. But after today I'm off the rest of the week. Get tomorrow off for working today. And Wednesday for working one day over the weekend. Just gotta burn 2 Vacation days for Thursday and Friday. Wife and I are headed to SouthPort NC for little R&R for the rest of the week. I actually mapped all the liquor stores within 1 mile of Interstate 74 along the way. Gonna stop at a few of them here and there and see if they might have anything tasty.

We go to Whittier NC every summer. Wife’s family has a cabin there. We hit up the liquor stores over in TN and bring stuff back every year. :)

I haven’t been yet but we are thinking about it this summer when we go. We almost went last year when we drove over to Asheville to go to Sams Club.

Definitely worth the time. We've probably been there 5-6 times. It's absolutely amazing taking the night tour at Christmas.

Actually we have been talking about going up to the cabin for Christmas one year. Will have to check it out both in summer and Christmas time. I watched a show on TV this past year where they were decorating for Christmas and they showed them setting up there and putting this MASSIVE tree in one of the 2 story rooms.

So this is somewhat related to here but it’s food/smoker related. I did a smoked meatloaf for dinner I made up a BBQ Bourbon glaze for it and basted it a few times. The glaze was bbq sauce, apple juice and a couple nice hits of Buffalo Trace. I know some may be like well why would you put that in food just use the cheaper stuff. I can tell you though I’m a huge proponent of never cook with liquor you wouldn’t enjoy drinking by itself. Any time I cook with liquor I always use ones I like to drink.

How many would be needed for a barrel?

I think we'd need commitments on around 175-200 bottles, depending on the proof/age/etc.

@Gingerbeard Man has been a part of some. Any input?

I know our issue here will be that the bottles will come to a single liquor store, so the majority would need to be shipped at an additional expense/risk.
