so i was looking into a cold air intake and filter.. i dont know what one to get. what difference does it make. and i dont know how to install the intake. what companys are good and how much will they cost.

also i'm thinking of getting a 6in lift. how much does a good lift (not cheap blocks) cost with new uca's. i already have a 3in but it came with truck and drives like shit... steering wheel always vibrating, over 60mph the truck floats.

also how much are spacers around? what are good company and does it affect the drive of the truck?

Do not get spacers, ride like shit blah blah. If you do go with a CAI go with the TRD, intakes are simple and very easy to install. Thats the only one that seems to really have any "gains" for the 4.0L.

You really have to decide whether or not NOW if you want to go 6 or 3". I think 3" is plenty enough and very functional, any set of great coilovers and UCA's up front will be great for you!

Oh and welcome to TW! and there is a search function on the top of the page to the right, type in cold air intakes or K and N or TRD and such and there are numerous threads that will really help you understand CAI and which one is best for you! Also there are threads here on 3" and 6" lifts with pics and whatnot, I would encourage you to look and see what you like the best!

Ya no problem! This site has an enormous amount of great info its just that you have to do a little digging. Also another thing that helps out a lot is send private messaging to people with setups that you like or what to know more about and most of the time they are more than willing to answer your question and be very helpful!

Damn I kinda missed the middle paragraph. If the truck floats you need to look into gettina new set of aftermarket upper control arms that allow you to get your alignment into spec. Also the vibs could be the tires, they need to be road forced balanced and make sure they put the weights in the proper places in order to balance your tires properly!

its "not so much the 6" lift" thats gonna kill your mileage as much as the tires and gearing you chose!

if your going with 35's even though you are a v6 and you got the power to push the wheels, I would also highly recommend a regear. just because you put bigger tires and the truck can push them without a problem, your transmission is still at proper reason for breaking down. maybe not right away but it will catch up. people will tell you all day that they are fine driving with big tires but the wear and tear they do not see on their tranny is really something that will catch up to them later.

So with that said, you should really PM people running 35's and 6" lifts. A lot of people IIRC are saying they are getting from 12-16 MPG with those kinds of setups. Also those numbers are low side for keeping the stock gearing in the diff and most likely the higher, if not a little more (depending on how you drive) with a proper regear for the specific tires you are running. Do your research and try to find the tire that best suits your needs that is also light weight. Wheels will also make a huge factor in rotation mass, find something you can deal with that is also lightweight.

Regears around me go for around 300 to 400. that being said you still need to buy gears (175-250) then install kit. could be as much as 850 for the regear with gears, install kit and labor!

holy shit. man i thought i would be about to get a 6in lift and i would be good... i guess i should not focus on that for a while.. on my reciept for my lift all it says is box kit lift kit component. idk what that means, but it only cost $300. is there any cheap way how to get a 6 in and run the 265/55/r20's i have at the moment?
