I am new to the forum, but not new to Toyota. I was a Toyota parts mgr. for a long time...a LONG time ago!! I am a Ford guy at heart, and have a few Mustangs. But..the need arose for another truck and it was time to buy another Toyota.
I’ve been lurking on here for a few months, to see what’s what. Seems like a good group!

I bought an ‘06 4x4 Manual access cab in Ohio with a scant 26K on the odo, a couple months ago. I LOVE IT!! Was a garage queen, so the paint looks new, and she still smells new inside!

Can’t wait to get to know you all.

Just curious if the last owner forgot to use the truck.

Thanks fellas! MTga, ummmm....apparently he was afraid to drive a stick!!

I’ve since changed out (as I do in all my cars) the TRD short shifter. Changed the ENTIRE driving experience in this beast! It’s mandatory IMHO.

Installed a painted later model grille, SS running boards, K&N drop in element, SS TRD exhaust tip, black Mustang style cue ball shift knob, current T A C O M A tailgate decal (placed exactly where the late model decal resides). Rearranged the chrome badges on the gate, and eliminated the small TOYOTA and the TACOMA, altogether. I ordered the 2” leveling kit and will be installing that this week I’m thinking. Also have en route the Fj TRD wheel center caps for the stock rims. I can’t decide on a set of wheels, so these will suffice. The rims look new because they were never even really washed!! :D
Oh yeah, installed the TRD silver skid plate. And a factory Toyota rubber bed mat. Hmmm.....I think that’s it?

Oh yeah, been looking into the squeaky (wobbly) clutch pedal situation too. This thing has it already. Being an X Toy partsman, I understand how the superseded part # works. The “newest” clutch pedal part # has been superseded twice and is also the newest # for the current Tacos. Soooo, I’m wondering if this new part is truly a cure. If the arm is still plastic, it won’t be.
I have a hard time believing that the early TSB’s never really addressed this. Hmmmmm ..... it’s the only thing that really bugs me about the truck.

Was the single most reason I jumped on it, when I saw it for sale. ALL my cars are stick shifts. I have a YouTube channel called Gearbox Geek and the tagline is “Long Live The Third Pedal”. :p

Changed up my avatar. My first one was my deceased bestest buddy, Cozmo. He lived to 15-1/2 and passed away three years ago, April.
He was my sidekick and did everything with me. I had a bicycle store for over ten years and he came to work with me almost everyday. He was the shop dog and people loved him! Hence my nickname of “BIKEBOY”. So I found this newest pic for my avatar, and thought it fitting to my situation.

    Damn, I miss him... :(
