I was getting all ramped up for the summer and the 4runner started falling apart out of the blue. This is not new but still frustrating; completely rebuilt front end with all oem components and there is still a mystery knocking from the drivers front wheel. After a fishing trip in the ADKs, I noticed a bad misfire while under load (OD off going up steep grades). I changed the plugs and wires with oem and noticed the old plugs were completely burnt (I believe they were original with 175K). I cleaned the MAF and got rid of the PO 171 code. It ran MUCH better. It now pulled up hills without dropping out of OD and fuel mileage noticeably improved. I have a new KOYO radiator here to replace the current one as it is starting to turn pink around the seams. Today... Truck is surging when in gear at idle and noticeably missing. Going up hills, the transmission is all over the place and won't hold 3rd gear when I lock out OD. I am going to cross my fingers and hoping the transmission acting "slippy" is a symptom of the engine missing and loosing power.

No pink milkshake mixing. Also, I have a scangauge II and am monitoring trans temp and coolant constantly.
Radiator is a 2.5yr old denso unit installed by the Toyota dealer.

@Noelie84 have you ever been out to Grand Falls? I finally made the drive/hike out there this time around. I was also spotted by the group of TW guys going to the Great North Maine Woods, when they rolled through Rangeley. Thanks for noticing me @m603holden

Morning. Great W from the bruins last night. Looked rough in the 1st but found their legs in the 2nd for sure. Tuukka getting beat twice to his blocker wasn't normal, let's hope it doesn't continue.

Let's hope Charas' arm isn't broken.

Had a good vacation but driving back on 93 yesterday, probably busiest travel day of the year, blowout on my boat trailer. Thank god it's a dual axle or it could have been ugly. Changing that sucked after an exhausting trip.

    Story time.

So , I go to my brothers wedding an 1 1/2 hours away. Before I go I cleaned the bed of my truck before I head to the car wash. I put my fishing vest in bed of truck behind my seat and head to clean her up. That done I head out. I get to the wedding and notice my vest not there! I’m like WTF did someone steal it when I stopped to get a card or something? Or did it blow out? Unlikely at 65-70 MPH. I mean I drive faster than 80 into work sometimes with my dirty work pants in back and they never blow out. And vest is heavier with shit in it like bottled water and such.

Then I started to think about the vacuum that sucks the water off and wondered.... could it be possible it got sucked out? So I call and had someone look when they had the chance. They call me back ,and wouldn’t you know it? It was found and I was able to go get it.
I’m also happy I didn’t have my rod and reel in back or it would have been ruined and I would have to mail it out for a replacement as it has a 15 year warranty on it. Friggin lucky bastid!

Yeah, years ago when we were tenting out by Grand Lake. We were there in August during a dry year, though, so it wasn't as impressive as that photo!

Edit- Not Grand Lake; Spring Lake. Not enough coffee yet?

Richardson looked busy when we cruised past yesterday. And choppy.

Yesterday we left fairly early. About 10am and the lake was starting to get nasty as it almost always does mid day. How busy was Asizcohos?

About the same. Flat as glass in the mornings and evenings, but with 2-footers and wind most of the day. Pretty crowded, too, what with it being a holiday weekend and all. Usually when we're up there it's just the same 4-5 boats from the people that are there all summer, plus a few oddballs scattered in as well. This time around there were probably 20-25 on the lake. But, we were doing land exploring this weekend anyway, so that plus a misfire I'm getting on (I think) the top cylinder of the boat meant that we just brought the kayaks this weekend.

Kayak camping is fun too. I like the challenge of getting all your gear whittled down in size to get out there. Sometimes less is more.
