    Hi,

I am looking to see the clearance of my slide-in camper's cab over portion in regards to the Gen-3's "Shark Fin" antenna atop the cab. Could someone measure from the lowest point ( lower than the ridges ) in the bed to the top of the antenna for me?

    Thanks in advance!

I can do it. What do you mean by lower ridges of the bed? Sorry if it's not clear to me

No worries and actually it might be better from the top of the ridges. The ridges are the raised portion of the bed. The bed is not totally flat and has slightly raised areas to allow for easier drain-off and sliding of cargo.

You can see them as stripes in this photo:

Using a tape measure, I got 105 cm from the flat of the bed to the tip of the fin, 104 cm from the top of the bed ridge to the tip of the fin.

I used CM not because I’m communist, but because it was a smaller margin of error. Please keep in mind that this wasn’t using anything like a flat edge to make sure it was balls-on but it should be really close. Hope that helps.

Awesome and thanks, agreed with cm for accuracy. Now to go see how this will fit, might be close, might not, lol.

Just checked it, I think it is too close when considering flex off road.

I have a 300W slide-out solar array that is stored under the cab over of the camper. The distance from the bottom of the camper to the underside of the array is 104.75CM.

I'm either going to have to relocate the antenna or shim the bed by at least 1/2".

I’m pretty sure I saw somewhere that @MESO makes antenna conversions that makes the fin into a puck.

If you measure "it" more than once, you are playing with it....:bananadance:
