Morning good peeps, looking for some advice here... What do you all recommend as an AAL or even a full leaf spring replacement that'll give me about 1inch in the back so I can carry a heavier load?

Had about 1200lbs in the bed yesterday & it was just about 1/2 inch away from hitting the bumpstops & idk if I liked that.

Edit: completely stocked height, w/ rear TSB leafs. Also added pic to catch your attention

Dakar or Deaver more than likely. Deaver will do a custom spring to get you a particular lift+capacity number but any spring designed to carry that weight will be stiff as hell around town unloaded. Most who need anywhere near kind of support are the overlanding crowd with a shell, rack, and/or a tent that never leaves the bed or people in a trade with heavy gear so it takes the edge off.

If you carry that regularly, you probably need more truck. If you want just a little more for when you need it, either the replacement options above or an AAL from Icon or someone might get the job done.

It needs some used toytec ultimates and bigger tires...more ground covered per odometer mile.

Not constantly carrying that kinda weight on the regular, maybe like once a month b/c I'm redoing my house. I'll look into those options a bit more. Thanks!

For once a month and limited term, I'd just rent a trailer. A 5x8 Uhaul open trailer is like $23 all said and done if I remember right and an AAL starts at $200 plus labor if you can't tear apart a spring pack. New springs are $600+. You'll come out way ahead and have no impact on your daily driving.

Plus, honestly, you don't really have that many dump runs in a renovation with the added capacity. If you can keep it around until you fill up the trailer (it's a lot more than your truck) you can spread out the rentals more.

I recommend the Firestone airbags since it’s not constant. If you had a leaf pack meant to carry that weight with an empty bed, it’ll ride like absolute shit most of the time.

I speak from experience because my dakars are still set up to handle 1,000+ lbs and I have about 150 lbs in my bed right now. Rides absolutely terrible. I need to remove some leafs to soften it up.

What this guy said I’m running airbags as well. The adjustability makes it worth it alone

I was going to upgrade to Monroe gasmatics but gently used toytecs might be a great alternative! Are these the two piece models that come apart for easy cleaning?

Have you been on the trail around willowsford? Its a pretty decent 9.5 mile xc loop.

Where are you located, if its once in awhile I have a trailer you could use instead of renting.

I appreciate the offer. Arlington is where his house is and I'm just 20 minutes west but we're pretty much past the demo phase. Now it's mostly just plywood, drywall, and other supplies and I've managed the bigger stuff well enough with some 1x6 planks across the bed and some creative strapping to the bed rack to support the back side.

What did the airbags set you back?
Did you get an air tank as well or just a compressor?
