called Toyota Customer Care @ 1-800-331-4331 ... spent a fair amount of time talking to the pleasant lady from TN

she is going to get me into contact with one of my local Dealer's to discuss what options and best course of action to properly protect my tacoma from winter weathering
I have talked to this dealer before a few times and just given a 1-800 # card to call and show me to the door :(
... maybe just give to them the keys as they keep asking for and get me into a new tacoma
my continual search for answers marches on...

That's what I'm going to go with when the time comes, I think (hope) I have another 100k in my current stock clutch though but we'll see.

If just getting a stock Aisin I would shop around. It can be had cheaper than what Marlin charges.

what do you know about the clutch?
I am experiencing slight stickiness in the shifter in lower gears in city driving, anything can be done you know of to make it smoother like it was almost new lol

Yea, I found one with Low Range Off Road that seems pretty reasonable. I shop quite a bit with them so may go that route. A little more than other vendors but they're like an hour down the road. Mostly I'm wondering if any of you folks have had any personal experience with one, cause the last thing I want to do is a clutch twice in a year after going 20 without having to worry about it!...she's only slipping in the high gears so I figure i can squeeze another thousand or two out of it lol.

I wouldn't recommend an Aisin replacement, especially if you wheel.

While the OEM clutch was made by them, the replacement kit they sell isn't nearly the same quality and caused me some issues.

I would look into a Marlin or LCE replacement.

Agree 100%, the Aisin clutch disc that you can buy that isn't the OEM clutch has plastic spring retainers that are just waiting to chuck a spring out

Well looking at the LCE page their kits look pretty damn good. Thanks for the heads up, haven't heard of them til now.

Yeah. Mine also had a very annoying vibe at about 4k PRM when you pushed the pedal in. Happy to be rid of it.

 I'm currently running an LCE pro kit. Pretty happy with it thus far, but it is a pretty solid/sudden engagement. Takes some getting use to after the sloppy stock replacement.

I'd drive 3 hours and pay 200 for some like that. Those are the nice buckets man. Nice score

Yeah I get that vibe around 3,200 RPMs when I push the stock clutch. Kind of worries me but I guess it's normal. Sloppy engagement is a good way to describe the stock clutch, I'll be happy to upgrade mine someday...just not something I want to tackle right now.

on that pro kit how is the pedal feel? super stiff or not so bad. I frequently skip leg day, so I dont want a fat lefty & small righty lmao!

It's not as bad as you would think for that heavy of pressure plate. Heavier than stock but not bad at all.

Sweet. LCE Pro kit Ordered. got a flywheel and bolts from LROR since I'll never be closer. Thanks again for the info:cheers:. Now it's time to cuss ya for introducing me to this LCE site. The wallet is letting out cries of concern already:pccoffee:

 Yeah, LCE is nice, and unlike Marlin, actually has stuff in stock.

Also, you should pick up new shifter bushings and seats if you haven't replaced those recently, and maybe a rear main seal. Mine was weeping slightly when I put this clutch in at 286k miles. Kinda wish I went with an LCE heavier flywheel too, but may still get to that eventually.

What is up with Marlin as of late, nothing seems to be on the shelves. Can't even get little clutch bits anymore

Just an added tidbit of info, LCE seems to have a Memorial Day special going, automatically applied a discount to my order knocking off about 45 dollars off my order, so that's pretty awesome.

Curious on your thoughts on the heavier flywheel? I get the advantage of more inertia being more difficult to stall but everywhere else I'd think it be a disadvantage.
