My truck is a 17, made in San Antonio. Had to beg for ECU updates and I think I got two. Basically, the truck works great after the flash until it apparently re-learns its old behavior and goes back to crap. I guess I just got real unlucky.

That really sucks . Not sure what else to say, maybe trade for 18-19? :notsure:

You gotta be happy after spending that much money, man those issues would drive me absolutely insane, im very particular how my vehicle should drive. Good luck to you.

I've given up on it. Mostly because of the way Toyota Corporate treats me. Don't really want to get into another one. I'll reconsider down the road, maybe buy a used 4runner from one of the good generations. Truck is super handy sometimes but I ain't paying 40k plus headaches for the occasional hauling trip.

People on here seem to think I'm being unreasonable to want my 40k purchase to perform normally, but you really have to drive my truck to understand, and then you WILL understand. It's unbearable.

Truck for 40k should perform better than just normally.

Precisely. I go up to BC every two months or so to buy insulin. If you're close to the border, you're welcome to drive it to see what I mean, assuming I still have it at that point.
