My old transmission jack came from a guy who used it once and moved from Georgia to California. The box still said Auburn, Georgia Harbor Freight on it.

 

I think all tents are just re brands, can only be so many Chinese vehicle tent factories

I doubt it, if it doesnt want to go into gear it's usually a matter of clutch issues. with the axle off the ground and the ebrake off can you put it into gear?

 

I've considered it, I'm pretty stubborn and have a really hard time asking for help

In other news, I was quoted $150 for a coolant flush on my truck from the dealer, which is kinda expected. And $300 if I want them to replace the T-stat at the same time. I think its a case of the service advisor not knowing what a T-stat is... Part is only $22 from Camelback.

 

Yeah $150 sounds right, that's what I was charged for a coolant flush a few years ago.

Might still be okay but I imagine it's going to need more than just fresh oil, but it's a good place to start if it's never been done in 300k miles lol.

From what I gather (read), with manuals it's less about fluid degradation and more about fluid contamination as the synchros, bearings and gears wear....by not changing the oil all that stuff stays in there causing issues I imagine over time. Start with the easy stuff (change the oil) see what happens

I don't know what kind of reputation Ford manuals have but here's hoping for the best.

 

Wonder if I should do the water pump yet. I’m having the coolant flushed anyway in a few weeks.

 

Oh I should probably do the timing set and water pump on the tacoma too.

 

Nah its probably aight at only 100k, the 92's took a dump at 200k. May aswell get all new drive belts then too.

 

But another $150 to swap the Thermostat?

 

If it's still the stock clutch at 300k I bet you're looking at a new one of them too
