Honestly man I took mine to some bullshit mom and pop shop with 35s and it was mounted fast. I can’t imagine many shops that couldn’t install them.

thanks. I really had no doubt until this happened. Also when they confirmed that they were trying to do it with malfunctioning equipment i realized that it was a unique situation. They owned up to it and made it right. I have an appointment Tuesday at another shop.

Got the wheels mounted yesterday. No issues. All set and when said and done I essentially got four wheels for the price of one. Scratch was super minor on the inside. Love the way the truck looks with these wheels. Stance is perfect. I do have running now on my flaps with 265/75/16. Not sure I want to take them off as I drive a lot on dirt roads. They only rub at full lock in reverse on rear inner fender.

This the address you're talking about? "2915 Bristol St, Costa Mesa, CA 92626" do you know the name of the tech?

I believe that’s the one, I don’t know the guys name but he’s got a white second gen parked near the back usually. That place is solid though all their techs have taken good care of me the times I’ve been there

Just ordered a set of rays from freeman Toyota. They let me know one had some damage and gave me a discount on the wheel. Any tips on the best way to fix this spot?

Ride trails and acquire more spots, making that one not noticeable.

Go you your hardware store, grab a can of semi-gloss black or something that says satin black. Use a small model paint brush and touch it up. Once the tire is on there, it should be hard to notice anything at all.

This is best, but you'd need to order it online.

Finally they came in! And I immediately put them on.684FE830-697B-4566-BF6A-0A35390A368C.jpg
Only thing is I’m not to sure about these tires and the size might have to go 305s and get some muds

What tire and size did you go with? What's the issue?

Anyone found a color (off the shelf in a rattle can preferably) fairly close to the Matte Gunmetal color SCS uses? Small little project that I want to use a similar color for.

On a 1st gen Tacoma, 285s always tend to look smaller when paired up with 17" size wheels. It's the larger diameter wheel that throws off the aesthetics. They look more proportion with 16" wheels and tires in my opinion. A bigger tire would look great on your setup.
