I tried it a few times. When the stars and planets aligned and my phone got a charge, it was more of a trickle than anything else. I'd use it if I had to, but it's better to hold the battery at full vs charge it there. Also makes my phone hot. S10+, tried with and without the case (which is thin enough to begin with).

Instead, I use a magnetic wireless charger on a RAM mount connected to a DMM. Power is supplied via a cigarette adapter behind the dash so I get fast wireless charging. Aside from having to take a few seconds to position my phone on the mount just so, it's an excellent system and I highly recommend it. Also allows you to add more charging solutions for other devices.

I've seen some people take apart a wireless charger and remove the charging pad assembly. They then take that and affix it to the center of a RAM phone mount. I can't remember where that was, it might have been somewhere in the Dashtop Multi Mount sale thread, not sure. Depending on your handiness and skill, that could be made to work fairly well and look clean at the same time.

My charging pad works great. I don't use it to go from empty to full really though. It keeps it topped off when driving, especially in poor signal areas that would otherwise drain the battery. I have a Note 8.

My TRD Sport did not come with the wireless charger...
I keep a magnetic extendable phone stand, a Totoro plush, and my Maui Jims in the space.

Apparently the truck is a canadian market truck, so no wireless charging, entune premium, and wide fogs...
I do not have the wiper low fluid sensor, do know what to make of it.
Not sure what else is missing.

Tired of going to my dealer, and complaining about it, they send me around the entire compound...

I have an iPhone XR and it'll "charge" thru the case... it get's really hot and gains about 10% per 30 min if I'm not using it to stream, whereas the cable get's me about 40% or so in 30 min whether streaming or playing thru the cord.
I charge the phone on a wireless pad at home and it works great and the phone stays cool.
Truck system as configured is and many have said or implied... meh.

My qi charger is worthless. It overheats before it charges my phone.

Mine works great. I have a Samsung S8 and it charges as fast as my wall charger at home. I have a case on it too. No complaints here.

Well the Canadian ones have the low wiper fluid sensor from what I understand. The US ones don't for some stupid reason.

Yeah mine overheated too. Thought it read just my phone case, but my cousins naked phone cooks too. Of course, out of warranty now...

like the idea of replacing it with a CB radio
