I forgot about them...they are stinky also...I shot one with my bow last year and it smelled horrible. The rumor here is not to shoot them since they are such easy prey, if you were in a dire situation in the woods you could eat them to survive...but I think with all the other animals out there I'd shoot something else...or boil a rock before trying to eat porcupine...

They opened seasons on them here a few years ago. They were having an impact on the timber industry. The fishers sure liked having them around.

I think I’d have to be knocking on deaths door from starvation to eat one. Plenty of fish, squirrels, and deer running around as well.

Well something doesn’t add up @Misplaced Nebraskan
It’s still posted so I messaged the seller to see if it’s still available. She replied “Yes”

I will be seriously disappointed if neither of you guys buy it. A freaking ranch kettle for $600!? That is a smoking deal! Those things are hard to come across used in my part of the country.

FINALLY found a freaking brisket. Picked it up at Walmart a little while ago. $2.96 a lb. looked pretty good. Will be going on the smoker on Thursday along with the butt I got there also. Will be for a bbq on Friday.

Nothing wrong with that. I’ve got about 1/4-1/2 pound of of ground beef in the fridge will probably be cooked up for lunch tomorrow.

Ugh... Needs a new grate potentially. Those are expensive! But I will go and try again!...

Winner winner brisket dinner. It came out great. Juicy and tender. There was just a hint of the sweet and spicy.

Our friends from Switzerland were over so we gave them a meal to remember. They loved the brisket. We also smoked some beans and a salmon that they also loved.

We were told that we could open up a restaurant.

Let us know how it is.

I almost bought one recently but it was “ungraded” and huge so I didn’t gamble on it.

Although I was talking to my father recently and he eats their ungraded meat all the time and likes it.

Might give it a go... pending your review :D

Will let you know. I’ve had a heck of a time finding any brisket around here. I’m hoping it comes out good.
