    There's another, expensive option. Anyone else get Whisky advocate magazine? This was in this months edition;

    I read that!

    Go to the letters from the readers. There is a letter about a cocktail they featured from a guy named Logan Thibodeaux. He's in my local whiskey club ;).

    Article says you'd get 200 bottles from a standard barrel. One of the costs listed was $8000, so 8000/200 = $32 a bottle. Not too bad! Just have to have patience...

    I read that and had a little laugh when I read the editors response to his letter; "Thank you for the wonderful letter, reproduced here only in part." I guess he is wordy!

    :laugh:

    He definitely can have verbal diarrhea from time to time, but what they cut out was a minor critique that he offered about one of their cocktail descriptions. He's nothing if not a class-act, so I'm sure it wasn't snobby or nitpicky, but that's what got conveniently omitted. :rofl:

    I love everything about these two pictures. Some stuff I've had, some stuff I hope to try soon, but all awesome bottles.

    Looks like a helluva time!

    Some setting called "Live Focus" on my phone's camera. Often turns out neat, but sometimes blurs too much stuff. :laugh:

    The blonde to the right is my sister who's married to the dude in the far background, so probably not ;).

    The other gal is a looker and stuck with whiskey for the night (mostly the good stuff, too). Whether she appreciated it or not, I don't know, but we had it out there for people to enjoy as they saw fit.

    (Cracked open and killed the bottle of Elijah Craig 18 in one evening :anonymous:)

    I'd be down. I'm not sure how much I'd be willing to invest, but my main concern is getting it to me. Can't ship to AL, cough cough. I do have an address 2 hrs away in FL.

    Tonight's voyage has been EH Taylor Small Batch, 1792 Full Proof, and now Old Weller Antique 107. Man, this OWA 107 to me right now, is like whiskey mixed with honey.

    That particular bottle has been open for a month I think.

    I think changing it up every pour definitely helps you discern flavors between the brands. Honestly, that OWA 107 is almost overwhelmingly sweet. I think I want one more, but with the Whistle Pig Rye. Other side of the the spectrum.
    Argh, need to go running tomorrow...and work I suppose lol.
