New Tacoma... Need Help!

Hey everyone... I’m new to TW! I just yesterday purchased my first ever car (at 18 i’m pretty happy) a 2019 White Tacoma Access Cab. I was intrigued by tacoma’s because of their versatility and ability to customize... However with me being new to the scene I can’t say I have the best modding knowledge although I have some. I already have plans to add the TRD Pro Grill, some runningboards, and new wheels but besides that does anyone have any good mod suggestions to make the truck a little more visually appealing and badass? Thanks!

Rattle can it flat black, put steel bumpers on it with some spikes and barb wire, and bolt expanded metal over all the windows.

I'd say get a level kit and some aftermarket wheels and tires for a more aggressive look

 

What you have on your list so far is a good start. Everyone is different so your best bet it to just look at other Tacomas driving around and look through all the different threads to see what you like.

Congrats! Those utility packages are cool in their own way.

 

Wheels and tires (33’s), 2-3 inch lift, front and rear bumpers, and maybe some ditch lights.

 

any suggestions on front bumpers? I hate the stock one.... btw same name, cool.

 

I think the new Body Armor bumpers are pretty cool. And they’re probably the most reasonably priced as well.

 

Bumpers are pretty spendy unless that doesn't matter. Not sure why they thought that much black on the front looks ok especially where it joins the side fenders. They do look better color matched.

 

yea... a new bumper seems lower on the list for me... after tires/wheels, lift, grille, etc

 

You'll get it how you want it. Just take time, money and patience. Almost 3yrs on mine and still modding.

 

Check out 4wheelparts. I got a set of 4 black Pro Comp wheels with KO2’s mounted and balanced and delivered to my door for like $1400. That was for 17 inch rims and 265/70/r17 tires. That was a couple of years ago on my 2012 access cab. That would look pretty good on yours too I think. If you don’t plan on off-roading, I’d just do a spacer lift. Super inexpensive and gets you the look you want.

 

you think an AVS aeroskin hood protector would be a good buy? might make the front look a little better

Welcome and congrats on the new truck, first thing I would do is get rid of that spoiler hanging down in the front.

 

agreed, I was just thinking that..

 

I use a hood protector in the winter when they put lava rock on the roads. It works to help the hood from getting all chipped and doesn't look bad but I do take it off in the summer.
