There goes the neighborhood

My wife starts working for the company I work for in 2 weeks. Different division......different city. ( I commute 30 miles to my office....hers would be like 2 miles)

Should I be happy?

A friend of mine in management in another dept has been bugging me for her to put in a resume for months...........she finally did & was hired immediately.

She likes it cuz it's way better benefits then what she has now.....better hours too.

But now she'll get to know most of my co-workers......be at meetings I go to on occasion etc.

Just don't know

 

Are you thinking your going to be needing a break here and there from her?

 

No......
we'd only see each other MAYBE 8 hours a MONTH.

Guess I can't bitch about her if she pisses me off to the co-workers anymore

 

No it's cool that I won't see her that often at work......we've worked apart for 12yrs and I'll see her at 6pm-8am every night. I guess it's just going to be weird.....seeing her name on emails, seeing her during working hours....etc.

Our work lives have always been seperate......I mean we know kinda what each other does on a day to day basis......but now we'll know who each other knows and basically EXACTLY what each other does all day.

Not really any "problem" just going to feel strange....that's all.

 

Used to be in a similar situation, my wife worked for a smaller company that was under the one i worked for, would see her several times a week but we didnt ever really interact witheachother.
it was wierd though, but didnt last long since she moved on to another workplace.
