Have a 2 inch front lift and EL096R leaf springs in the rear? Want to know approximately how much weight you can put in the bed of your truck??? Here’s your answer...

22.5” center hub to fender would be 1.5” lift. The stock TRD OR is 21”.

It’s better the way you have it though, looks good and probably rides great.

Even with coilovers I only go 1.5-1.75” as well

Nice. Post, I’ve always been curious but too afraid to ruin my back end. Most I ever went was 1000lbs

Yea mine also started a bit lower. I was 20.5 to start in the front :/ and I added steel rocks sliders which confuses things a bit.

The Taco lean is also pretty strong on my truck and the other side is closer to 23

A full tank of gas could cause that too

Total weight of the vinyl I shipped was 1600 lbs. the Dakar’s took it well. I only drove it like 10 minutes so I figured it was ok. Here’s a video of them dropping it into my truck’s bed. I also measured the rear end after removing all the vinyl and it went back up to previous height.

Lol nice. The HDs are pretty sweet. I use to have them but took a leaf out (3rd from top) and the ride is better, but my max load is like 800lbs until my aftermarket bump stops are resting on the frame

Yea part of me is considering long term to take out the 3rd leaf and add air bags when I load up my full overland rig.

I dunno, I’m on the fence with Dakars. I have a year and 3 months on mine. They are the HDs. They are beating up my shackles. Everything is tight and my shackle hangers are not bent. I have concern they are already worn and need for replacement.

I just checked mine out and don’t see anything like that. But I wonder if it’s what looks like are extended 5100’s? Maybe they weren’t designed for the extended droop?

Hey Daniel do you have a measurement of how much the HD Dakar lifted you hub to fender without any added weight? I have the MD Dakars and don't think it's enough for my full load out, but I don't have the truck setup that way all the time. I'm trying to find out what the HD pack will give me when I am not loaded up but don't want to be too high in the rear. Did you add any shims or do you have any vibrations? I'm also running the 6112/5160 combo but with 650# springs for my weight up front.

Vs aprox 861 lbs. (No passengers)

Truck has steel sliders, steel front skid, and a boy racer prinsu rack. ****note is that the pictures were taken at two different spots and I'm not sure if the ground was perfectly level on the 1227 lb pic.

I’m around 24.5 hub to center with an empty bed.

But yea how’s your front end with the 650 lbs springs? I’m considering adding armor/wench. What setting do you have them at? How much lift did you get? How much extra weight?

I didn’t add any shims and have no vibrations. I’m at 5/6 level in front with stock 600 springs

The one who dies with the most stuff wins.

So I have the 6112s set to 5/4 with the 650# springs. I currently sit ~22" which is about 1.5" above stock for me. In terms of constant added weight I have:
    • SSO slimline bumper (67 pounds)
    • 10K Smitty synthetic winch (85 pounds)
    • RCI skid plate set (IFS, tranny, & T-case) (123 pounds)
    • Mobtown Sliders (140 pounds)
    • Prinsu roof rack (40 pounds, maybe?)
    • Recovery gear (25 pounds, maybe?)
    • Tools (25 pounds, maybe?)
    • Diamondback cover (80 pounds)
At this weight configuration I am 23" on the driver and 23.5" on the passenger in the rear. This would be the point of comparison to your setup with an empty bed if I was to compare apples to apples. There isn’t a whole lot of weight over the bed with this setup.

Then add the weight that is a constant on the truck in the summer when I put the bed rack and RTT on:
    • KB Voodoo bed rack (61 pounds)
    • CVT RTT (125 pounds)
At this weight configuration I am 22. 5" on the driver and 23.25" on the passenger in the rear.

Then when actually on a trip I have another ~150 pounds in camping gear and extra fuel. At that point I go down to 21.75" in the rear (stock height is 22"). It is this configuration that I am trying to fix with converting the MD leaf into a HD leaf.

I love how the front of the truck rides and I'm very happy with it. If I go with the AAL to convert to a HD Dakar pack, I might go up to 6/5 if I feel the rake is too much.

Did you do a CB drop?

Thanks for all of the numbers! Yea I’m thinking 650 with 5/4 then after adding the weight.

What about adding airbags?? Then you could also have on board air as well.

I do have on board air already. I thought about air bags but don’t know enough about them honestly. I just remember as a kid my dad had them on his Chevy S10 and they were great. Until they started leaking...
