I took it in for a weird squeaking sound coming from the drive shaft area and to do the recall work.

I drop it off and leave. 5 mins later the tech calls me and says "how do i start your truck"....

I knew this was gonna be great...

I said "put the key in it and turn it on.."
tech "i tried that but the lights are flickering like it has a bad battery"
me "idk, your the tech figure it out!" I hang up the phone

he calls back and says I need a new battery...ok great...off to a bad start.

well I just got another call and they guy said they replaced the rear U joint and did the warrenty work and put me in a new battery and im good to go...so hopefully everything will be ok once i get there.

Maybe ill look at a new one while im there :D

If you have time, go to the dealer in Lawton...it's Jim Norton Toyota. I haven't had any problems there. If you're looking for a new truck, talk to Drex, he's decent and will work for you. If youre going to trade your vehicle in, they're only gonna give you blavk book value most likely. Good luck!

Know what you mean, dropped of my truck when new to have a brake controller installed - sales man offered to do it for free during purchase. Called me saying it would cost extra since they would have to run all new wires???? Its got a tow pack WTF, I had to go down there and raise hell they finally figured it out what a bunch of dumbasses.

I think the only requirements for being a service tech is being able to write your name and drink coffee

Maybe he lied about the battery, to get you to buy a new one?
    Wouldn't be surprised.....
Also surprised he didn't tell ya that the truck isn't good anymore, and he would have recommend you trade your truck in for a new one. lol

108 sounds pretty reasonable for the battery, not sure what their labor rate is? I paid $90 for mine from advance auto parts. Although I would have just bought the battery from them and installed it in the parking lot :)

So how long did your battery last? 4 years? I have plans to replace mine at 5 years whether it needs it or not.

Wow, I would have thought the factory battery would have lasted longer.
Does the factory battery come with a warranty?

I just got back from picking it up. no labor charge for the battery. just 99 bucks plus tax = 108 and some change.

on the work order it said "replaced rear U joint due to internal failure"
the tech said since there are no service points on them that there is no maintenance to be done other than replace them when they go out... He said its the 5th one he has done this year.
